Final version number of Foundry3?

Does anyone happen to know the final version number of the last Foundry3 update?

Thanks!

The last downloadable DMG is indeed v3.2023.09.06. The last update deployed via the Stacks update feature is v3.2024.01.17.

Thanks Dave! Much appreciated.

Dave

Thanks very much Kai-Uwe for the precise info.

Due to ill health I was not able to install past v3.2023.02.02 and apparently Adam found it necessary to turn of his update server after he threw us all under the bus.

Oh well…

Cheers,
Dave

Just double checked, but unfortunately Adam really killed everything. Redownload via Cartloom isn’t possible (I think he deleted his Cartloom account) and the update server directories have been removed as well. So no luck for re-download at all.

Yeah, what a guy Adam turned out to be. Quite disappointing indeed.

It is indeed disappointing. He didn’t have to shut the update servers down, or delete his Cartloom account, or take the documentation down (or set all of the Youtube videos used in said documentation to ā€˜private’.

Even though I get tha tthe update servers and the website that hostsed the documentation cost money annually, there is such a thing as service to you customers.

And the YT videos don’t cost a thing to have up.

I do hope he reads this and comes back on his decisions.

Erwin, Adam has left the documentation pages for Foundry2 online so it doesn’t seem to be a case of expense at all but rather an absence of ethics. So far we haven’t seen any concern from Adam about how he treated his many long time customers, so I’m not expecting much if anything from Adam going forward.

As I recall Joe W. offered to buy Foundry, but Adam would not accommodate. So self serving…

@thang It seems to me you are being way way over the top. You hardly know the full story. Let’s just say there have been some quite unethical folks over the past few years surrounding the RW universe … none of which have been Adam.

I’m sorry you are disappointed … that’s natural. But you are making inferences that simply aren’t true. Maybe you are a mud-slinger by nature, I don’t know. But if this is just a bad day or two for you … fine and so be it. Just consider that Adam may have had very good and reasonable reasons for doing what he did … even if you don’t know the whole story.

Hi @Mathew,

I do understand Adam’s explanation on why he closed down the business, and back then I applauded him for being so open about it, but I agree with @thang that Adam went just a bit further then he really needed to when he closed down Elixir Graphics. Like I said, putting the YT videos on private, deleting the documentation pages and closing down the Cartloom account so that you can no longer redownload the software you paid for.

This makes his products harder to use for his existing customers, which isn;t reqally fair IMHO.

I read Joe’s forum post about him offering to buy Foundry from Adam to continue it (and support existing customers), and how Adam refused that. Which is a shame too.

Cheers,
Erwin

Let’s just say some people were willing to buy Foundry but at a pentance. I’m pretty sure it was very insulting.

If I offer to buy your computer, even your second computer, and I say I’ll give you 20 cents … well it’s true I offered, it’s also true that what I offered was pretty insulting for the real value of your computer. Again … you are reading things into all of this, and making assumptions, that may not always be accurate.

Hi @Mathew,

Fair enough - I didn’t know the offers were so low (insultingly low even).

Thanks for explaining!

Cheers,
Erwin

Sorry Mathew I respectfully disagree with your characterization. I think I know enough of the story to justify being more than disappointed with Adam’s behavior. Of course he didn’t start this mess, but his behavior was/is less than stellar.

Rather than deprecate my nature without knowing me at all, it would be more helpful if you would educe us all as to your personal insights into the situation if we are indeed being unfair to Adam.

I do remember your post:
Never Gonna Get It - Stacks4ALL (which seems to have been edited as I recall it being a lot more negative in nature - although I might wrong) which seemed to be entirely about casting shade on Isiah 's efforts. Perhaps you are right, but that was some questionable mudslinging on your part. We all are entitled to our opinions in this situation. If Adam wants to defend himself here he has every right and opportunity to do so, but you do not have the moral higher ground without supplying facts.

I would also disagree with that. He left the community and abandoned his long time customers. If he took a big or total loss going forward that would have at least redeemed him as to his responsibility to his customers.

Heard it on the grapevine perhaps? Little bird in your ear? Clairvoyance?

Fact is that info seems to not have been revealed to you and is therefore just your own speculation.

Read that one back to yourself in the context of your ā€œI’m pretty sureā€ etc…
