Font Weight in Font Family

How do I set Font Weight in Font Family? I want to set the default Font Weight to Light instead of Normal.

If you are using a text component you can do it per component here:

Doesn’t work on Custom Fonts

You need to include all the different weights of fonts. Do you have a project you can share?

Hey @mrTablet,

Just ran a quick test and it appears to be working well, recorded a quick video to show you how I have it setup.

Let me know how you get on.

The problem was Text Style. Had to clear Formatting.

Wish it was possible to set Font Weight default in Theme.

You should take a look at The Typography Component, you can set up styles in the Theme Studio that include weight.

I’ve been trying to work with custom fonts using the Typograph component and keep running into limitations with how custom fonts are defined in Elements. In the example below the word ‘description’ (underlined in red) should be bold, but it’s actually using the ‘medium’ font weight, and as such doesn’t stand out much from the normal text.

I also wanted to set the ‘normal’ (400) weight in Elements to the ‘light’ (300) variant .woff2 file as the 400 weight variant is a little heavy, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to accomplish this.

I was hoping to find a way to set which custom fonts corresponded to which weights, ie; hairline (100), extra light (200), light (300), 400 (normal), 500 (medium), 600 (semibold), 700 (bold), extra bold (800) and black (900), but there’s absolutely no way to define these properties for custom fonts. There’s also no way to set which fonts also corresponded to which italic, wide, condensed, etc variant of a typeface.

FYI - it’s also not currently possible to scroll the Theme Studio > Font Family > Custom Fonts window.
