have a form in Foundry 3. but cannot find a tool to thwart bots and form spamming in the Form stack. prior versions had a humanity test or form pro. but form pro does not work with Foundry v3
the Foundry user guide had a section that discusses Spam Control
Most third party form tools work with Foundry, and have built-in spambot thwarting. Formloom comes to mind and is one of the more popular ones.
The anti spam measures built into the Foundry form tool (a hidden field that must not be filled for the message to come through) has been rendered useless by the latest spambots (they can now defeat that anti bot measure). I’ve seen a wave of spam messages on my own sites because of this, and a lot of my customers are complaining about it too.
I am also still not sure why there is no option to choose the anti-spam measures within the Foundry 3 Form stack. sure wish Adam and Elixir were still around!
I used one of the starter packs - Hoth and refashioned it to my needs
I tried to add the Form stack on a different page, and that option did not show up as a choice.
Well, I must admit I’m not sure which version of the Foundry 3 “Form” stack you have.
The only thing I can think of, is that you have a really old version from just after Foundry 3 was launched. Adam kept updating Foundry 3 after its launch and adding features - perhaps “Form” initially didn’t come with a “Spam Control” option.
You can check the version numbers of indivudual stacks as follows:
open your library by clicking on
look up the Foundry 3 “Form” stack and click on it once
As you can see on my screenshot, I have version 3.2024.01 of the Foundry 3 “Form” stack. I’m willing to bet that you have a different, most likely older, version installed.
The bad news is that there’s no way to get your hands on later releases of Foundry anymore, now that Elixir have gone out of business.
