Is it possible to add alt text to images that are in my gallery?

I created my gallery using the media/folder which creates the thumbnails automatically, but I cannot see where to add the alt text to each image?

ā€˜Captionā€™ also serves as an Alt tag (although strictly speaking it should be separate)

You need to click each image in your resources one by one ā€¦ and fill in the image info > caption

Iā€™m already using the caption to show the year beneath each photo.

Perhaps I should explain what I currently have;

Football team photos, year beneath each photo.

I would like to name the players in the photo in the alt text box, but do not want to lose the year which currently occupies the caption box?

We have a ticket open here to add an extra ā€œaltā€ field to support this. Canā€™t say when itā€™ll ship, but itā€™s high on the list!

You canā€™t do that at present in the app as they are overloading the caption field. I hacked some perl together to fix it for my site but itā€™s ugly.

This might do what you want. Add the text you want in the alt text in the Caption field but turn display of it off in the Lightbox Meta Data. Add the line you want under the each photo in the Author field and turn that on. You should now get the Caption in the alt text and the ā€œAuthorā€ displayed under the photo.
