Gallery Pro captions

I’m probably missing a check box, setting, or option somewhere, but I can’t get photo captions to show in Gallery Pro.

I can show/hide them for Lightbox Thumbnails Meta Data. When I go to the Lightbox Meta Data settings I set the display to “below”, I have “show” on (it’s blue), author and EXIF are off. The captions don’t display in Elements or when I “preview in browser”

make sure colour is set correctly as I think by default its dark and hard to see….change it to white

Thanks. I never thought of that. That didn’t work.

Here’s a screenshot of my settings. It must be something simple I’m missing. I had it working once upon a time.

Hi @radio64

it’s hard to tell why it’s not working for you from the screenshot here, could you share the project or a live URL we can take a look at?

have you images actually got captions in the resources

They do have captions and the captions will show on the thumbnail view, but I don’t want that and have them turned off for thumbnails.

The site is not live yet. How do I share the project? Attach it here?

To share a file, upload it to the cloud icon top right of App. You then have three options, copy the link here and everyone sees it. Send the link by email to support@ and only they will see it or start an email thread and just copy it into email that you only want that person to see.

Hope this helps while youre waiting for Ben to respond.

I think I published the test site to the host with the Rapid Weaver version. So much for knowing what I’m doing. It looks like I uploaded the site and not the project.

Here’s the link: http://kbt.radiohistory.net/

The site is pretty rough. The Gallery Pro test page is the one I’m having trouble with. When I went to that page, I could briefly see the captions as the photos loaded. Maybe I don’t have some spacing set right?

First of all sod the website can I come to your house and help!

Captions are there but over to the right and not lined up with pics, as I can not see your settings, someone might be able to help you better. @ben can you help please.

Also Dan said he would put the project files up on the “opening new projects” section for Pro Apps purchased, Before and after not full one and Gallery Pro and Cardflip missing too.:heart_eyes::heart_eyes:

Sure, I need all the model railroad help I can get, but it’s a long trip if you are in the UK.

I tried a screen shot before, but that was hard to see.

In the Lightbox Meta Data settings I have
Type: below
Margin 2
Alignment Right, but I’m changing it to left
Caption Show if off, but I’m sure I had it on prevously
Color: 950
Font body
Size base
Weight Normal
Author and EXIF are off

It’s more than likely me not understanding something in Gallery Pro. The captions are there as I want on thumbnails, but not in light box view.

To show captions in the Lightbox, make sure they’re enabled in the Lightbox Media Data section:

Also check that the text colour contrasts with the background so the captions are clearly visible.

Hope that helps!

Dan has hopefully helped you, sadly yes in UK but you never know!:rofl::rofl: Good Luck!!

Thanks Dan and Paul. It appears to be working now. As I suspected, it was my inexperience that was the problem.

My settings pretty much matched yours except I didn’t have “Author” turned on. I turned that on and uploaded again. Still no captions. I tried again after I could see faint captions. I had the text color close to black. Changed to white and it works.

Also I had expected to see the captions under the grid of photos. Now I believe that’s the thumbnail view. When I clicked on an individual thumbnail it enlarged and I could see the captions.

Sorry for all the fuss. It’s my inexperience that shows up best.

Yes he helped me, but you had told me the same thing earlier about caption color.

We’ve loved every trip to the UK and hope to come back in the near future.

Good please bring a big box of trains and you can come and stay at my house and we can have fun!:rofl::rofl:
