Gallery Pro - Lightbox doesn’t work.
Same set of images worked fine in the regular elements gallery and the lightbox too.
Help please.
Hi, thanks for the report.
Sorry the Gallery Pro lightbox is giving you trouble, especially since the same images work in the regular Gallery.
To dig in, could you share a bit more when you get a chance?
- Screenshots or a short screen recording of what happens when you open the lightbox
- Elements version (Elements → About Elements)
- Exact steps to reproduce from a fresh page if you can
- A project upload would help a lot if you are able to share one (Support → Upload Project)
Once we have those details we can ticket it properly and get it looked at. Thanks!
Tried a set of images with the simple Elements gallery and it worked fine. Grid appeared and lightbox worked.
But because I would like the images in the lightbox to have captions I tried Gallery pro.
Using the same set of images
1 The lightbox doesn’t open
2 Latest version 3.0.18
3 Using a fresh page
Added folder of images
Converted to .php
Dropped Gallery Pro component on page. Dropped image folder into the component, Grid of images appeared.
Clicked on review.
Grid if images appeared. Clicked on an image No light box appeared.
Then I experimented.
Added the elements gallery component and the Gallery pro component on the same page and both grids and lightboxes worked.???
Removed the original galler component and the lightbox still worked on the Gallery pro component
Surprisingly it still worked after a programme restart.

`Using your upload button above the project is not somethings that is recognised as being uploadable?? Are you happy to accept it via drop box.
Thanks Mike, that detail helps a lot.
Skip Dropbox for now. In Elements, use Help → Upload to Support (screenshot below) so the project comes straight to us.
If that option is greyed out or the upload fails, say what you see and we will find another way. Once it lands we can dig into the Gallery Pro lightbox behaviour properly.

A further problem. The Captions don’t work in either the grid or the lightbox as far as I can see.
I clicked on an image in the resources section then went to info panel on the right hand side. Typed in a caption name for that particular lichen. Made sure that captions were switched on in the Lightbox meta data pane. Went to preview and nothing seems to happen, I cannot see a caption ion either the grid image or the lightbox??
More help needed I’m afraid.
Still able to use the version where I deleted the original elements gallery component that got Gallery Pro to work properly.

An update on the caption issue. i read in one of the forums that the Gallery Pro component needed to be in a container for it to work. Doing that, the captions appeared under the grid of images but still no caption on the Lightbox image?
