Getting text to start below menu

I would like to know how to control the placement of text so that it starts below a menu.

The first page of the website, it starts below the menu and scrolls under the menu.

On the second page (based on the same design as the first), because there is a lot of text, it starts beneath the menu. This is what it looks like before any scrolling:

I do not know (as a beginner user of Elements) how or which setting to use to make the text elements always start below the menu and then scroll up.

The project is here: elementsapp://downloadDocument/BPUKCBPyZvEw.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Elements 1.4.0

Not at computer so can’t download project. If you go to “SPACING” on side bar and add padding to your container - text it should bring it down, equally reducing padding on menu bar will do the same thing. Also if you have a problem put @dan or @elementsbot in request and you’ll get help quicker.

Hey there, Victor! :top_hat::sparkles:

To get your text to start below the menu on each page, you can indeed adjust the spacing. Here’s a quick rundown:

  1. Padding on Container/Text: Add some top padding to the container or text element. This will ensure the text starts below the menu on all pages.

  2. Menu Padding: If your menu has extra padding pushing content down, you can reduce it.

If you’re unsure how to do this, head over to the Inspector in Elements, and under “Spacing,” you should see options for padding. Adjust the top padding either on the menu or the text container.

If this doesn’t quite hit the mark, you can ping @dan for his expert thoughts. If all else fails, I’m always here for a chat, or minor shenanigans. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Keep up the good work! :rocket:

I saw the problem on the Complaints page, and in the process noticed a couple of problems.

First, the HOME page was not actually set to be the home page, so Elements informed me ther was no home page set when I tried to preview it.

Secondly, you had your menu INSIDE the main container, which is not normally a good thing to do. You should place it outside the main container at the top. I then added padding to the top of the main container, which moved the text down so that it did not start underneath the menubar.

Thank you for both responses.

I have found the issue (nothing to do with padding or margins.

For the main container, the Sizing option for Height was to set to “Screen”. Once I changed it to auto, the problem went away.

Regarding handshaper’s points specifically, the original was copied from one of the templates provided by RapidWeaver (so the menu positioning is theirs). I can now see that Sizing = Screen works for the home page (because of the text’s positioning to avoid a key part of the image), but not for text pages such as my Complaints page.
