Help with a faulty file

Guys, I need your help (@dan :face_with_peeking_eye:)… I have a project file that probably became faulty/corrupt after the last save. I can edit it in RW but unfortunately when I launch the preview in RW or in browser, I always get these errors:

  • first it shows a window that says “Site Export Filed” (see screenshot)
  • then it shows a blank page with the following error (see screenshot):

Notice: fread: read of 8192 bytes failed with errno=21 Is a directory in /Applications/Rapid Weaver8.app/Contents/Resources/RWWebServerLaunch.phpon line238

And if I try to publish or export the site to a local folder, the publishing window appears for a few seconds, then disappears and doesn’t publish or export anything.

The last time I opened the file, obviously everything was working fine. This is something that has never happened to me and I don’t know where to start to solve it.

Basically, I need to make important changes for the client, but I’m completely stuck and don’t know how to proceed. Does anyone have any idea how to fix the problem?

Thanks in advance to all who will help me.

Hi @Massimo

The first error means your site logo file got corrupted (there’s a disconnect between what’s there or what was there and what’s listed in the .plist file). You’d need to navigate to your General Settings and re-set the logo image. Even if you don’t have a logo image in that dropzone, you need to highlight the dropzone, click the Delete key on your keyboard, save the project file, then either re-add the site logo in that dropzone if you had one, or don’t if you didn’t have one there.

The second error can usually be fixed with an app restart. Fixing the first error above might clear it up as well.

Let me know how it goes.

Hi @differentdan,
Thanks :folded_hands: for the instructions, they worked well!

Having never used “Site Logo” in the Settings tab, it never would have occurred to me to fix the problem by removing it from there, even though I’d never uploaded any files to it.

Not a problem, happy to hear that worked. :slightly_smiling_face:
