Help with Container Formatting

Can someone help me figure out what I’m doing wrong here. I have a container at the top of my page that I want to stretch across the top but I can’t get the width to expand. It’s a container that has a grid inside with two columns, one with site name and another a modal to open the menu. I attached a screenshot. I’m trying to see if there’s a video to help me understand what I’m doing wrong but when I put in “container” I get a very old video.

You don’t need the min/max width settings on the Container (as far as I can see). Your Max width is currently set to 10, so this won’t fill the width.

Can you share the project via Elements Cloud (and paste the link here)? That way we can take a look at your project and show you exactly how to fix it

Thank you so much Dan! The link is below. I’m basically just learning the language of Elements and moving the project over from Classic so I’m sure I’ll eventually get it I’m just getting stuck in learning how it works. Here’s the link to the project:

Hey @mintyfreshsmile,

Had a quick play around with the project and have got the menu working for you. I also switched the content in the menu from a table to a flex so it sticks to the edge correctly

Here’s the update project :backhand_index_pointing_right: elementsapp://downloadDocument/sTAO3dfLR5KB

EDIT: I noticed while recording the video above that your slide out menu is not quite looking right, a couple more tweaks will get that to be full height and the content pinned to the top. Here’s how to do that:

Pretty much anything is possible in Elements, you just need to know the right settings. If you get stuck again please post on the forum, we’re always around to help

Thank you so much Dan! This looks fantastic—that’s exactly what I was trying to do. I also fixed the slide out menu as you suggested in the second video and that’s looking pretty great too. Do I technically need a “modal close” component in here? It seems like when I preview it, if I click off the slide out it goes away. I was thinking if I don’t need it, I could just leave it out. Thanks again for taking time to help me, I really appreciate it.

Always happy to help! And no you don’t need a modal close, clicking on the background works as expected
