How best to start again with Rapidweaver

Hi

I useed Rapid Weaver fro about 10 years. Had a billionStacks! I ended up using mainly Foundry from Elixir and a lot of Joe Workman stuff.

Due to outside stuff I had to step away and oly have about 5 clients with sites that need updating from time to time.

But recently I have been asked to make new sites… I dont dare because I have no idea whats what anymore!

Can someone point me in the right direction regarding what I need now to make sites in 2026. I guess I need elements? Is it a huge learning curve? Thanks …..

Everyone’s knowledge and learning styles are different.

I suggest watching the getting started videos and let’s build a website videos first…

For me - once I saw the let’s build video - everything made sense and I bought elements and transferred 15-20 sites

Very happy now…

We will help you with problems and questions…

Welcome! :hugs:

You have five basic choices:

  1. Stick with Rapidweaver and your current Stacks. The problem is support for some of them may be gone.
  2. Transition to Stacks (still in Beta) and your current Stacks (you’ll be dropping Foundry for the new Stacks theming). The problem is that this is not a finished/polished product.
  3. Transition to Elements and learn a new system. As long as Elements currently has the functions you need, this is an excellent choice as it’s very modern and versatile. The problem is that there’s a learning curve.
  4. Transition to another existing product (Blocs, Sitely, et.al.). Each has its strengths and weaknesses, but also the same learning curve problem.
  5. Use the AI-generated gunk that’s part of almost every hosting service now (e.g. Wix). The problem here is that you get cookie-cutter, same-looking results.

As to Elements learning curve, the biggest problem is getting your head around the conceptual aspect of it. Containers, Grids, and Flex Boxes are your new friends and need to be understood and mastered.
