I’ve come across something that I think is a bug. When I want to change the order of the individual containers in a grid, the “First” and ‘Last’ settings work as expected. However, when I select “Custom,” the order doesn’t change, no matter what I select.
Am I misunderstanding how this should work?
Not used this feature in a while… but from what I remember, you need to specify the position on more than one grid item. It should then work as expected

but also when I give all the containers in a grid a number from lets say 1, 2, 3 … x and I switch then the 1 by a 2 and the 2 by a 1, nothing happens?
Can you share a sample document on Elements Cloud with the issue you’re seeing, it’s much faster for us to diagnose what’s going on and provide you with a proper solution that way.
Update: Just looking into this now, as there might be an issue…
there’s a bug in the order settings that we need to fix. I’ve ticketed this, and hopefully we’ll be able to get this fixed in the next update (although I think the fix might be a bit trickier than it might seem, so I can’t promise it’ll make it in!).
I have to set first and last then I can set the order
@upssjw Yes, first and last work. It’s the “Custom” field that is currently broken.
that was working in my example as long as I set first and last, then the numbering worked, I was able to change order of the numbers
so for me set a first and last and the numbering works
Ah, that’s good to know. @ben has now fixed this issue and it should be in the next build!
I tried in what @upssjw showed, but in my case it was not working. But thanks for your comment Steve.
Good to hear that it is fixed! I have some ideas for galleries and they can only be realised with full control over the order of the grid items
