How to change the label content

I have started converting my Brics created for a different website builder to elements. So far all goes well . However, I have created a form template and, unless I’m having a brain fog moment, there seems to be no way to change the label content.

Do you mean the Placeholder? If so, see images below. :slightly_smiling_face:

ive changed these settings but it never alters on my received emails…always says new submission form or whatever the default was when you drag a form component…reprted ages ago but not fixed

Hi @logrunner, thanks for the effort. :folded_hands:

No, it’s the label content which I’m unable to change as there’s no input field for it. :magnifying_glass_tilted_right: All styling options are ther though.

@Godber. I can see in your screenshot you managed to do so.

Just tested it.

Double click the label in the Editor window and then you can edit it.

Thanks @logrunner. That works perfectly and removes partly my brain fog. So it turns out the container label sits in the way to change the actual label content unless you change the fonts size to 2xl or higher.

This might need some  @dan

turn the show titles off that will turn off container labels

Yes, I fully agree! :slightly_smiling_face:

I think the container label would be much better positioned outside the container on say the top left. Then when you select a container its contents aren’t masked by the container label.

I think there was some discussion about being able to move the label to any of the four corners. Its current position is probably the worst corner to choose.

id just turn em off altogether …since you can now click in the node browser and it jumps straight to it I dont use em at all now

Yup, I hear you. Like Pinegrow.

Assuming it will be challenging at this point of development to move the label outside of the container, moving it to the top-right corner could be an alternative as well. In my field, hospitality, top right is your best selling corner of a menu. But that’s off-topic.

I have suggested to @dan that they provide an option for the user to decide where the label should be positioned on any of the four corners of the selection. I did a study and found that in 90% of my use cases if I could position it in the top RIGHTHAND corner it would never get in my way.

Dan seemed to like the idea but I have no idea if they plan to add something like this, but it would be nice.

It’s not too tricky, but there are other issues it creates. We experimented with this idea in the early days and moved to having the label inside the container. We can certainly have an option to move it though.

Yes, it’s on the list!
