How to use thumbnail images as page links/buttons

Hi,
I’m in the process of trying to decide which add-ons I should try when trying to build a site to act as a display of an image portfolio. In the process I have looked at what Adobe Portfolio offers and one nice feature is the provision of images that react when the mouse passes over them and link to another page when clicked.

This site : https://rapidweavercommunity.com/gallery/j-r-seiler-zahnarzt. implies that the web site it refers to is made without add-ons. The site is here : https://www.zahnarzt-seiler.de/

Has anyone an idea how the hover action has been added to images with links?

best wishes
Simon

A quick look at the source shows this area to use a Joe Workman Column stack and a Joe Workman Fluid Image stack.

That site was built with the Freetstack theme from Blueball Design. Not sure if Charlie is still active in the RW community any more.

The hover effect is produced by a stack called Ice from Doobox. Don’t think that’s available any longer but do check. There are plenty of other ways to achieve the same effect though. I used the same effect here - http://www.bowdenpropertyconsulting.com/Portfolio/

I couldn’t see the ICE stack on the Doobox website but plenty of others to look at. I quite like the effect.

Thanks for your prompt replies, I should have thought to look at the source ; my excuse is that I’m feeling a little dull at the moment.

I do like the way the hover reacts to the direction of the mouse travel.

Check out BWD’s SectionsBox - some demos here - http://sectionspro.bigwhiteduck.com/box/hover-captions/

Rob, what an excellent looking stack thanks for directing me to it.

You can add a link to the image if you are using my Fluid Image stack.

I believe ProGallery 2 by Stacks4Stacks can also do this.
