HTML Issue

Hi, I am currently transferring a website from RapidWeaver 8 to Elements and wish to include a HTML snippet from a third party website. I did it in RW8 with the HTML component and it worked (and still works) fine (see Mannschaften | Planeta Radebeul - Tennis). The Snippet is:

When I insert it to the HTML custom component in Elements on the page it remains blank and does not show/update.

What am I doing wrong?

Best, Henning

Sorry, in the previous post the snippet did not reproduce, here it is again:

There is a button up by the top, right Did you click it open up the bottom section and copy and paste in the HTML code?

Sure did.

Can’t find a way to include the snippet here…

You did it right…

Clicking at the top of the code - where it says HTML you can custom name it - click on it and give it a name..

It helps if you’ve got many of them…

Thanks Michael, but even renaming the custom component doesn’t help…

Want to try the snippet yourself? You find it here a little down the page:

We have a video on how to create HTML snippets, hopefully this will help:

Thanks Dan, I’ve seen it and followed all procedures. I can include other snippets as shown in the video, all working fine. Just this snippet isn’t working/showing, but it’s all going well in RW8, as said, so the snippet itself does work. It just doesn’t in Elements.

Btw: I love Elements, it’s really great. Even for an amateur like me. Great work! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi,

Perhaps not visible in Elements, but visible in “preview in browser” and (hopefully) when page published.

Is this was you want?

Yes exactly, that’s the content.

And Anne was right too, it is visible when I hit “preview in browser”, so in the end it is working correctly, but not showing in elements. Sorry I didn’t try this myself - but now you have something to work on

Thanks for the support - much appreciated!!

If I understood your question, that is normal. You must preview it in the browser (looks like a compass or clock), or upload it online. Either way, you’ll be able to see what your are doing…
