Hi

ur Elements website shows, in the inspector, external links to fonts.google.com that we do not want for privacy reasons. In principle, all fonts used on our websites are hosted locally on our web server.

Where do these links to one font and two CSS files come from?

Or, in other words, how can I find these in Elements—could it be that something was misconfigured in one of the many text elements?

Do you have any active google font in your Theme Studio? Usually elements embeds google fonts for body and headings automatically, unless you overwrite those and choose custom, non-google fonts:

Thank you for the tip on where to look. All fonts correctly point to my local folder. Are there any other font sources that I might not be seeing? On our website, I cannot find any indication of possible sources.

My assumption is with these two. Can I change anything about them, are they required by Elements itself? Does anyone have an idea how I could remove them for testing?

Yup, override all fonts in the theme and ensure none of the are using Google fonts.

The System theme is always a good choice as it’s just using “System” fonts.

Hi Dan

As far as I can see, I don’t have access to the fixed, built-in fonts in the templates. This seems to be the cause of the issue, based on my tracing so far (see attachment).
Have I missed anything, or is there any further action I can take?

Hallo Jan

If you create a custom font and name it body, it should override the theme font.

Yup, you can override fonts like this…

:+1: Thanks for the good idea, but it didn’t work for me.

Hi Dan,

for me the option is greyed out, I don’t have access rights to it. Could this be subscription-dependent? If so, there should be an alternative way for the users to access it.

War schon weg, versuche es wieder, bin nicht so viel im Büro diese Monate.

No, the option is available for everyone. How do you mean it’s greyed out? Does the right click not work for you?

You can also create a new “custom font” and give it the same name, this does the same job as overriding it…

Hi Dan,

great, the decisive tip was the right-click.
I’ve now adjusted all the theme fonts to custom fonts, and it works exactly as intended – no more links to Google. Perfect, thank you!
