I’m doing a toy site for a retailer who is a friend of mine. Everything is perfect so far. So yesterday was image day. I spent hours typing up all the images he gave me (3000+) making them all .png as there was a mixture. No problem. All done then yesterday afternoon and evening I had a Squash App session, great no problem at all.
Today I have three lovely folders of squashed .png’s ready to load then boom - nothing. The older larger file loads no problem at all but the squash ones do not copy across - I ma dragging the images from a folder into resource are. I have tried one or two individually and also opened a brand new clean empty project. The larger file one copies across but the Squash one doesn’t. So could someone preferably who has squash try loading this image into an empty file and then kindly use one of your images to Squash it and then import both. This is to see whether it’s my file or a Squash issue. TIA. @dan

UPDATE I have been able to load the image successfully here once published. So it needs someone with Squash please to try and load a “normal” and Squashed image PLEASE and THANKS!

I just tried the gun image you posted. I ran it through Squash with all three algorithms, exported each as PNG, and they all dragged into Elements resources without any issue.
So it’s not reproducing here. If you’ve still got one of the files that won’t copy across, drop that here (or an Elements Cloud link). I’ll try that exact file.
Tom Thnaks, sadly as I said in update, I copied that one into resources directly from forum and it loaded. So pick and image, load it and then squash it and load it. I have tried in a brand new project with absolutely nothing just two images one squashed the other not, the squash on would not load into a brand new project. TIA

I’ve tried a few different PNGs here too: squash them, then drag the result into a fresh Elements project. All imported fine, so I still can’t reproduce it.
Can you drop one of the files that won’t import into a new project, then go Help → Upload to Support? That’ll get the actual file to me so I can see what’s different.
Pardon my ignorance here but the pic I uploaded did actually go into the project after I posted it by dragging it directly from forum. However I can not get any squashed files from 3 different folders to copy across into brand new project at all so how can I do what you are asking?

I think we’re slightly at cross purposes, so let me check I’ve got this right.
- You start with a larger original PNG, and that imports into Elements fine
- You run it through Squash
- The Squash PNG will not import into a new project
If that’s what you’re seeing, I need one of those original files (before Squash). Don’t post it on the forum, the forum can re-encode images. Drop the original into a new Elements project and use Help → Upload to Support. That gets me the real file.
I’ll run that through Squash and try importing the result, same as you.
When you write “copy across into a brand new project” I believe you’re saying you’re dragging from outside Elements (macOS folder) to inside (resources). There are plenty of apps and utilities that interact with that macOS process and could interfere. So a relevant question is what utilities do have running? Specifically anything that might interact with the copying process.

I have 4 folders all have imported exactly as they should by dragging the folder from finder into resources no problem. Once the folder is “Squashed” using Squash App they do not import by using same method. I have added an image container and tried dragging one in - no luck, I tried a gallery and dragged folder no luck, yet after all this if I drag and un-“Squashed” folder by folder or item or gallery it works. It is only the squashed images I have a problem with.
Tom I have closed everything down, restarted computer and guess what … it wouldn’t turn back on! Yes everything now works! THANKS for your time. Lesson learnt for me!
Great, glad you got it sorted! 
No problems. This is a very common issue these days. The other one to watch for is apps that require a connection to the Internet mothership from time to time. There are plenty of other apps that can interfere with that. I have pretty heavy security running on my Mac, so here’s the other scenario I see from time to time: the app or the blocking app put up a message, but it’s behind the windows I’m currently working on, so something remains blocked and not working until I discover that.
