Image Sizing in a grid (Beta 13)

An image is placed in a grid item. The grid is 12 columns, grid items are 2 up so 6 columns each. Does the image always fill up all 6 columns, regardless of size, and regardless of whether original size in the control is selected?? (Trying to wrap my head around this)

Problem: Picture of a badge, is next to a picture of a different badge, but which is about half the size of the first. Both showing same size. Both have original size selected in the sizing control.

Generally yes, but you can set the image to be smaller so it wouldn’t fill the grid item…

Sounds like you might need to set both images to fill the available space. Try setting the image Width on the Display size to “Full”.

No change

Can you check if the image File Size is set to “Original” ?

It is. Made sure all images set to original.

It sounds (and looks) like the original image is too small… Can you share the project on Elements Cloud so I can take a look?

Page is US Navy Qualification Badges.

Same issue on Identification Badges page. The two images with red background. Bottom one should be half the size of top one.

Okay, so I’ve taken a look and the original of that image (in the project) appears to be low-resolution. Maybe you have the original on your hard drive somewhere you could re-add?

However, there is also a bug with the image resizing, we’ve got it logged in our bug tracker to fix. Look out for it in a future beta.

In the meantime, you can leave the File Size at “Device”.

Thank you sir!!

Have you looked at using the Gallery instead? Would be much easier for you to display the badges, you just drop a folder on to it and it’ll do the layout for you like this…

I hadn’t yet. I need to experiment with it. What I haven’t done yet is add the description for each badge yet (and wasn’t sure I could do that with the gallery). I will do some more experimenting. My initial goal was to re-create my existing website (done in GoLive) in Elements and then move on to fancy stuff as I work my way through everything Elements can do.
