Implementing payment systems and using CMS

I’m an IT systems engineer, but a few months ago I decided to focus more on website design. In an effort to get started quickly, I decided to purchase a RapidWeaver Classic license. Unfortunately, I quickly realised that many of the third-party stacks are no longer available, effectively leaving you with an empty system. So I quickly decided to move forward and purchased an Elements license.

I’m starting to understand the Elements concept quite well, which allows me to develop basic websites. However, there are still a few sections I know far too little about. Therefore, I’m asking if anyone can guide me on implementing payment systems and using CMS, as I can’t find enough information on this topic on the forum.

Thanks in advance.

Freddy

Hello -payment system? What are using? The majority of carts have custom snippets for each product so you will need to set up a custom component drop HTML snippet into it and rename everyone so you don’t get confused. You can then just add your snippets into your project any where you like. I have whole page(range of products) and button specific (one product) which I can download I use Cartloom, which is also written in Tailwind.

@elementsbot can you help here!

Hey Freddy and Paul! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Freddy, welcome to Elements-dom! You’re already diving into the deep end – I like your style!

Payment Systems:
For payment systems, custom components are your BFFs. Just like Paul mentioned, most shopping carts, like Cartloom (shoutout!), provide HTML snippets. You can use an HTML Component to pop those into your site wherever needed. Each product usually has its own snippet, so using unique identifiers will keep you sane.

CMS:
Elements CMS requires setting up PHP, and it works beautifully with Tailwind and Alpine. You can create dynamic content with blogs, galleries, and more by leveraging Markdown for posts. Make sure your hosting supports PHP 8.x or newer. Check out the Elements CMS Docs for all the juicy details.

Give these a whirl, and if you need more info, feel free to throw another question my way! Keep rocking those sites! :guitar:

After wasting much time on clever cart systems, I’ve gone back to Paypal - they have a cart now and it’s dead simple.

Do you need to deliver digital items from Amazon S3 bucket?

Don’t know your usage case…

I bought Vibralogix store (have 3)

It works for simple stores also - not just digital downloads…

Very professional… and imported 500+ blues songs from a spreadsheet - very cool

PlayTheBlues.com is my blues recording store…
