Intranet - anyone built one with Elements?

I was thinking the other day that as part of my death plan as I call it or escape plan for my business, I would love to do an intranet consisting of a few areas. The biggest would be a database, video instructions, PDF’s in a knowledge base but mostly step by step instructions on how business tasks are carried out.

I have bits and bobs all over the place as I know what I am doing - although wife debates this at times. I just thought there must be a way of bringing everything together and I love Elements and thought maybe?

I would hope that when CMS 2 comes out - this week @dan hint hint :rofl: thats this would be a place to start.

So over to you is this idea crazy and there’s a better way of doing it or has someone done something like this?

Sounds like a smart (and fun) idea to build a knowledge base with all the information required to run your business. I like it :+1:

I put it into my will - shared it with family showed and explained how to continue websites and businesses

It is my ‘hope’ my daughters will continue with the websites and businesses

The notary said: yes this is a new section: digital assets and their future

I wrote an article on Technitrox.com about the death industry- virtually resurrecting an AI bot of you from social media posts - this is already happening!!! Are you wanting or willing to pay :money_bag: to keep your loved ones ‘alive’? Big issues here…

Digital Immortality and the Death Industry

Michael in UK a will is “public” therefore anyone can read it after your death. The best thing to do is to have a short will with a private letter outlining everything. Most importantly in UK a power of attorney is also the best practice too.

When I wrote my first will my solicitor told me to rewrite as like you I put fine minute into it. I now have a will, a letter and also two powers of attorney.

However none of the above contain the fine detail of my business which is multi faceted. My two kids dont want business as they have their own lives and my 4 grandkids are too young. I am covered by death in service insurance and power of attorney for son to “dispose” of business when I die. So new owner will have everything I have done and how to do it.

I do have a RW Buddy but I suppose thats now defunct so I will need an Elements buddy now. - so if theres anyone out there interested in taking over 5 business sites and a few personal ones let me know and I’ll make contact. Preferably UK so we can meet.

Hi Paul,

I didn’t know about public airing of will in U.K.

All of this time and work, we put into our businesses / sites, we want them to continue!!!

I’m 60 now - and would like my sites to morph as the web advances in the future

I hadn’t thought about a RM buddy before… that’s a good idea :+1: someone who knows the software - is experienced - and would want to take on the job… very smart…

It’s not very smart having an RW who has not yet got in to Elements when all my sites are in Elements now!   In my career I have dealt with death since I was 18 on a regular basis so my sense of humnour around death is slighlty different to most. I call it death planning but my accountant keeps telling me it sucession planning. I dont think he likes the word death or died. Even in England we have 273 words for the words as people can just not say them!
