Introducing Elements AI Writing Assistant

Hello!

Today is a big day!

We’re thrilled to announce that the AI powered Writing Assistant is now available for you to try in RapidWeaver Elements 2.2 :tada:

We’ve put a huge amount of thought and care into both the experience and the interface. Rather than tacking AI onto a simple right-click menu, we’ve built something that feels properly integrated into Elements from the ground up. We’re using the latest frontier models and our in-house custom code to provide excellent, contextual results.

The interface may look obvious now, but getting it to this point took a lot of time and refinement. As with many well-designed features, the best ideas often feel simple once they’re done.

We’re releasing the Writing Assistant as an early Preview so you can try it out and provide feedback on the usefulness and integration. As always, this is just the first version and we plan to iterate quickly based on your feedback.

Watch the video below to learn how this remarkable new features works.

While it still has a few rough edges, as you’d expect from a Preview, we believe it already shows enormous promise. Our goal with the AI features we’re building into Elements is simple: to help you build better websites, faster. This is just the beginning of what we believe will be a remarkable year for Elements and the thoughtful integration of AI.

Availability

The new AI Writing Assistance is available in Elements 2.2.0 or newer and requires an active subscription. Launch Elements, and check for updates to get started.

You can learn more about the Elements AI Writing Assistant in the Manual. We’d recommend reading this page as it includes more details on what is and isn’t supported.

Have fun, and let us know how you like the new feature!

Looks good I’ll have to wax lyrical about this and burn my candle at both ends!

Careful, that’s exactly how it starts… a quick “I’ll just try this out” and suddenly you’re three hours in, rewriting everything on your site and wondering where the evening went :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking forward to hearing what you think once you’ve put it through its paces!

Hi @dan, can you explain a bit more about what models it is using? I assume this is via the Internet rather than local. Can we use our own models that we are already subscribing to or models running locally?

I asked it to make six lines of text more friendly and it has already used 3% of my AI credits. It seems to me it won’t take much to burn through 100%?

Looks quite neat and will be handy I’m sure. As Jon mentions tapping into our own AI accounts might be a very handy feature.

The Writing Assistant runs via our own servers and is not processed locally on your machine. This allows us to provide a consistent, integrated experience and apply our own layer on top of the underlying models to improve the quality and relevance of the results within Elements.

It isn’t possible to use your own API key. We’ve designed the system to be tightly integrated so we can manage performance, reliability, and the overall user experience.

You’re correct, the usage can add up depending how often it’s used and the size of the content being processed. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this during the preview and will continue to refine how credits are used to ensure it feels fair and sustainable.

Really appreciate you giving it a try and sharing feedback, it’s super helpful as always

Took this for a spin, and it is indeed handy. The usefulness is going to depend a lot on the cost. I currently use Grammarly, which is fairly expensive. Hopefully, your pricing will be competitive, so I can potentially ditch Grammarly.

I see a lot of potential. Now, I will go and spend all of my credits tweaking one of my sites.

I did notice that I had to re-activate my license after updating to this version, never had that happen before with an update.

© 2025 ???

The writing assistant has remove the text padding that was applied to my text. And for some reason it has skewed my footer text a bit.

Before text assistant:

After text assistant: (note the text up against the line and Terms & Conditions in the footer)

I have one other page where the Price + Shipping and Handling text refuses to center. I’ve tried a few different things to recenter it but so far nothing has worked. Im not clear if the AI wiring assistant is responsible for the text centering issue but I have been unable to find a cause. Same with the footer.

Thanks.

Jeff

Hi @Jeffinn, Sorry to hear you’re having issues, hopefully we can figure out what’s going on for you.

I’m wondering how the text was styled, did you use the in-line styling? i.e. you double-clicked into the text box to style it, rather than using the component styling controls?

Can you share your project before the AI text changes, via Elements Cloud?

I clicked the text box and then applied the “Improve Tone” assistant. It initially looked okay so I accepted the changes. The backup from yesterday would be pre-AI. Do you want me to revert back to yesterday’s backup (Im going to end up doing that anyway as I found something else that was my fault in the published version of my website)?

Thanks.

Jeff

We’ve had a few reports of styling issues with the AI Writing Assistant.

As a precaution, we’ve temporarily disabled the AI Assistant while we work on a fix. We’re hoping to have an updated build ready for you tomorrow.

Thanks Dan, I appreciate the update.

@Jeffinn Thanks for reporting the issue, we’ve re-created the problem here so are working on a fix now. Fingers crossed we’ll ship an update tomorrow (Friday) :crossed_fingers:
