How does one make the thumbnails smaller (grid). When I adjust the width, they just get blurry.
I see you can do it with Gap and number of Columns, but come on?

The width setting is for sizing the thumbnail image, so you have full control over the size of the actual image. It’s not for the display size.
That’s correct, use the Columns and Gap setting to adjust the layout of the thumbnails.
Ok, but I still don’t see the practical point of the width setting.
Elements will physically resize the image so the file size is smaller, this is good if you want to optimise your site for faster loading time (or conversely prioritise fidelity).
Hope that helps.
Today I decided to buy the Gallery Pro component. With the 25% discount it’s still not cheap, but it’s a component I will use frequently. And … I see it as support to the Elements team. I must admit, Elements is a good app. When I start Rapidweaver frome time to time, it’s a big difference.
Just another question how to format sub-galleries. The screenshots below shows different sub-galleries, indicating the sub-galleries’ name below and the number of photos. The names come from the names of the sub-folders and are formatted as “caption” in the inspector, the # of “photos” seems to be automatically generated and is formatted with “author”. Turning off, both “caption” and “author” does not hide the sub-titles (this works only when “Hidden” is selected). I would however like to keep the caption / name of sub-folder, but not the # of photos, or at least change the it to “paintings (Bilder)”. How can the done?
Hi @Netroamer13
That sounds like a bug, I’ll add it to our list and get it fixed ASAP!
I love this! I am trying to have a remote folder on a server of videos. Can this be done. I have tried and here is my results.
here is the url I have added to resources
Gallery Pro doesn’t currently support remote folders. I can’t say for sure when/if we’ll get to this, but it has been requested a few times, so we’ll try and prioritise it ![]()
Thanks Ben
What is the best way, if I want to get away from Vimeo to display a grid of videos that are hosted on a server?
I think I have figured out a way to do this.
Linda - I’m getting an error when I got to your link.

Thanks it was a temporary location.
Does JPG set to 80% quality sound about right?
My advice would be to make the images as small as possible without losing any noticeable quality. So just keep tweaking the settings until you start to see a difference in quality, as soon as you do, stop.
hey @ben
any chance to get additional to a remote folder also a connection to the CMS so that I can add a folder in the CMS and feed it into the Gallery. That would be a great thing.
What size in pixels are you planning to use?
