This feature isn’t built in to Gallery Pro, however, we do have a Password Protect component that allows you to password protect both individual components on a page or entire pages.
We don’t currently support these features in Gallery Pro, but we are open to adding more features if the demand is there
There is no direct integration with the Elements CMS, but again that is something we could look at adding.

What you’re seeing is currently expected behaviour. The caption in the lightbox is positioned relative to the browser window rather than the media itself. On fixed-size screens like phones this feels natural, but on desktop where the window height can vary, it can look a little disconnected from the image or video.
It’s actually a surprisingly tricky problem to solve reliably across different screen sizes, aspect ratios, and media types, so for now this is how it works. That said, we understand why a caption tied directly to the media would be preferable in some cases, and we’ll keep this in mind as we continue improving the lightbox.

Hi @dan, well it looks even weirder if you also have the thumbnails as the caption looks like it is associated with them rather than the media due to the proximity. Due to this for me it’s a case of use one or the other but not both.
Yes, pricing is a science (and art). And yes, .99 has been the standard for quite a while now (over .95).
One of the problems I have is that I don’t understand Realmac’s pricing. It doesn’t seem to be logically consistent. @dan is making the argument that the Gallery Component built-into Elements is all that most need, and that the pricing on Gallery Pro is because it is “specialty.” The problem is that the “special” part isn’t all that more extensive than the free part, so I—a photographer to which Gallery Pro was targeted—don’t see the value. (Disclaimer: I bought Gallery Pro, but more because I’m trying to support Realmac doing “more”, instead of feeling I needed or could use it.)
Overall, I think Realmac has mis-priced pretty much everything; they’re certainly not maximizing revenue potential nor presenting a rationalized pricing structure to users. They’re both leaving money on the table as well as not getting money they should be getting. I’ve seen that problem before, and if it isn’t corrected, the results are always bad.
@dan how are you adding the metadata for the title and author text to the jpegs?
quick update: we’ve just released an update to Gallery Pro with a couple of new features, more info in this post.

Excellent job on gallery pro. I have set things up the way I want. Working Great! Now comes a question for you and @ben. Is there anyway to filter in the Gallery or would that be something for maybe version 2. I have paintings that are available and I want my users to click a filter and only show “available” paintings. Right now I show all my paintings together. Sold/Homed or Available. Just thinking out loud.

in your demo the caption and data is a lot closer to the bottom of the image…how do you get that
I took the question to mean where is Elements getting it from the photo’s metadata. I’ve added it manually in Elements but could add it when I create the JPG if I knew which fields it was checking.

I’m new to Elements and I’m delighted with the software so far. The “basic” gallery option meets your needs perfectly, allowing you to add a title and author.
The Pro gallery options are truly very interesting, but it’s true that the cost is far from negligible.
I thought I’d find these kinds of options in the annual subscription, but no, the paid options are definitely there…

No, the basic gallery does not meet my needs perfectly. I’ve been using Elements for almost a year and am well aware of how to add title and author. If you read the posts and previous gallery threads, you will see that each of my gallery items contain a number of different images the descriptions of which do not show up on the lightbox.
cant see to get a you tube playlist to work….if I right click when the playlist is in the resorce folder it say play in you tube and it works as it should but in the gallery pro all I get is the first video in the playlist and no way to jump to the next one??
Hi @Godber hard to know what’s going on form your description, could you share the project?
As an illustrator this plug-in should be a no-brainer for me, yet I won’t be purchasing it as it costs more than Elements itself - and it’s primarily focused on photographers. Yes, I could present my illustrations with it, but the EXIF data is useless for illustration captions and there appears to be no way of providing additional metadata to the plug-in.
At this point I’m largely disregarding the marketplace, especially if this is the direction Realmac is heading. I’ll just use Elements as a lovely (yet buggy) visual editor and create my own custom components as needed.

also another wierd thing….if I open my video playlist on a pc click on the video it starts to play..if I click on a video on the iPad or iPhone it opens it in you tube as in I have to click on it twice to open it?
