Is Elements Really WYSIWYG?

Dan says nothing is set in stone. I believe him.

I fully expect a contact form to be in V1 and if there’s an option to access data sets - as has already been demonstrated by Bjarte - there’s nothing stopping a user in building their own compact CMS.

I’m also not naive enough to believe V1 will be feature complete. I’m happy to give RMS the benefit of having a release before being critical of what they’ve provided.

You’re quoting what Dan said AFTER you incorrectly assumed about what I said and I showed you proof of what I said.

Instead of looking at your error in assuming, you used the latest comment posted after the fact as your crutch to march on with whatever you believe or choose to.

Another thing: everybody here believes Dan, both because of who and how he is as a person and because he is the developer of the app. There’s no other choice but to believe him. It’s explicitly implicit. I never suggested I don’t believe Dan. I was using Dan’s remarks on CMS as proof to show you that you were wrong in assuming about what I said, which has clearly went above you.

Seeing how you function, I realize I should never have engaged, but I’m happy I did.

You said there’d be no CMS or Contact Form. I said that’s an assumption. Given there’s been a lot of discussion about a contact form I think you’re wrong. I never said I thought a CMS will be in V1.

It’s clear RMS don’t have the final features locked down - They’re still responding to user feedback. and making improvements. Dan’s been saying this since the beta started. It seems you feel you know more than Dan. Feel free to block me.

Wouldn’t be the mature thing to do.

Again with your incorrect assumptions…

Let it be. No need to make it into what it needn’t.

You can do this in multiple ways.

  1. Via the Tree view
  2. Right-click the component and use the Navigate menu
  3. Use the breadcrumbs at the bottom of the window

That’s fantastic that it even gives the name of the layers, better than the generic “last” or “next.” Thank you for the courteous response!

Thanks for pointing that out, I’ve been doing #1 and not noticing #2 or #3. This will save me time.

Still, this gets to something another post pointed out, that there are things in Elements that don’t feel Mac-like.
