Is it possible to enable lightbox for a container or a flex?

Hi everyone,

I’d like to built a bento grid style image gallery inside a container or a flex using grid component, and I’d like to enable lightbox with nav buttons for all the images in this gallery. I couldn’t figure out how to do that. Can anyone help?

ok spent 10 mins on this, grid galleries, not sure if this is what you are asking, either multi images or single images in each folder, limited on what is possible I would think

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the reply. So as I understand inside a grid you placed a container, and in the container you placed a gallery component for each image. And that way the lightbox nav works for all the images inside the grid? Correct me if I am wrong.

What I want to do is this; I want to build a gallery of 20 images. But the gallery component has only one layout, when you drop your image folder inside the gallery component it grids all the images equally into whatever number of columns you choose to set. However I want my gallery to have bento grid look and I want to navigate all the images in the gallery. I created a bento grid layout with grid and flex components and inserted images individually, and lightbox worked for each image individually with no navigation.

Also I couldn’t do what you did in the video. When I put a gallery inside a container with more than 1 images in it, it grids all the images, and looks like the attached screenshot. Also the lightbox nav does not move from one gallery to the other. The nav works only in that gallery.

Don’t think what you require (if I understand what want) is possible, the gallery is just a plain grid you can control the layout only by adjusting the number of columns the images then just size by how much the gallery occupies

I have added the project above, you can just download, as I said limited what you can do with gallery

I have just controlled the size of the container, set overflow to hidden then set one column/image, again restricted in the size of the container you can use as well, just pushed the limit of gallery

Oh ok I see what you did there. Very useful thank you very much

Hi Steve, this looks great. I have a question I asked on Blocs forum but with no doable solution.

As a photographer, I wanted to create a gallery for my clients where they could mark/evaluate in some way photos they like so I can post-produce those for final export. Up until now, I was using Portals from WeTransfer, currently using Lightroom Cloud Gallery for this.

While I am learning Elements, which I am crossing over from Blocs (and I find it great so far), I thought I would ask here in the tapcalap topic and expand it a bit with this question. Can some kind of an evaluation/comment/feedback system from clients be implemented with Elements?

Thank you,

Mike

Hi @meonmac
I would guess that such a functionality is not available for any website builder out of the box.

But have a look at https://www.moodcase.io, they are offering such a service and its free up to 1 Gbyte of data.

Maybe that helps

Thank you. I am comfortable with Lightroom for now. But I do appreciate the suggestion.
