Hi, I’m an old RapidWeaver user and am re-writing my site from RW5 to Elements. (I was advised that would be easier than getting to Classic and then to Elements.)
I have tried using the Empty Project option, but can’t find an option to add blog pages. Do I need to buy/use a theme in order to have that option?
there is a free template from Realmac available which shows the use of a blog. Create a new project (not an empty project). You find there a free project “Microblog”. It’s a very good starting point.
There are others like “self advertising on” Maximilian and Nextlook which goes a bit further “self advertising off” but I would guess you do not need them at your current state.
Elements doesn’t;t have page types, you just add a page and use the components to create whatever you want. It’s very flexible!
You might also like to watch the CMS getting started guide to learn how the blog works works as it’s a bit more involved (but much more powerful) than what was in RapidWeaver Classic.
