I have hit an issue creating my site with 10 pages and when I publish the site to a local folder it freezes/locks up and will not publish the pages and crashes the app. If I delete the 10th page it will publish the site no problem. I went ahead and designed the 9 pages and all works fine so again I tried adding the 10th page and the same issue. I even tried grouping a couple of the pages in a folder and then adding a page and still have the same result. The 10th page just won’t let me publish the site.. Any ideas or work arounds?
There’s no limit on the number of pages you can create in Elements. It sounds like there’s something else going on, quite possibly a bug in the publishing engine!
We’re currently investigating reports of a similar FTP issue, so fingers crossed we’ll get this resolved very soon.
In the meantime, can you try the following:
- Can you try exporting your site locally to see if that works for you?
File > Export Site
You can then upload it using a third-party FTP client (this is just a temporary work-around) - Are you using FTP or SFTP to connect to your site?

As for now I have been uploading the site (just the 9 pages) SFTP. But as I was building it I was just publishing it to a local folder and when I got to the 10th page that was when it was crashing. When I would re-open the app it would open with the 10th page but would never let me publish to the folder so I could never have the pages in the local folder to drag and drop via FTP. I never thought about trying exporting the site.. I will give that a try.
Well that export acted like it went well the first time. Used to with Rapid Weaver Classic I could go to the exported site and open the index.html with Chrome and the site would work locally like a normal site. Elements sites do not do that. Every site I have built in Rapid Weaver Classic I can do that. Any reason for that? I have built 2 sites in Elements and the same result. But back to my export, I exported the site and had to make a change and tried to export again and had the same issue as I did trying to publish. It crashed the app with the 10 pages. So I had to delete the 10th page again. Then it would “export” or “publish” the site after I deleted the 10th page.
Can you share your project with the 10 pages that makes Elements Crash, we’ll then be able to get this fixed for the next build

That’s good to know, but we’re just trying to track down what triggers this issue, I’m sure it’ll be a simple fix, we just need to find out what the magic combination of settings are.

Okay, so your project exports locally just fine here, what steps do you take to get it to crash/stall?
Do I need to add another page somewhere in the project?
You do have all 10 pages?
Like I said, I exported the site the first time no problem. Made an edit to the Welcome page and tried to export it the second time with the correction and it crashed during the export. It never would publish to a local folder (with the 10 pages)..
I am on a MacBook Pro M1 Max, 64GB RAM, MacOS 15.6.1
Okay, if you haven’t been able to recreate the issue.. I did a screen capture of me building a test site from scratch with nothing but blank pages building the same bone structure of the site I uploaded to you and I got the same results. I didn’t even add anything to the pages, not even a menu. I just titled the pages and then tried to publish them locally to the computer. Again with the same result. Remove the 10th page after Elements freezes up after trying to publish and having to force quit and having to re-open the app. Then after removing the 10th page I hit publish and it publishes the 9 pages. I can share the screen capture video link to you but really don’t want to share the link on here for safety reasons. Any way to direct communicate with me where I can send you a link?
Can you please give Elements 1.2 a try, this should have resolved the issue!
