I keep losing the scrollbar in my main web view window and have to rescale one of the panes to bring it back. Slightly annoying.
Also, the preview in the browser is VERY slow when rescaling or scrolling.
Thanks for the report!
We’ll need a bit more info to help diagnose what’s going on here. Could you let us know:
If you can reliably reproduce the issue, that would be super helpful. A screen recording or a sample project (if you’re comfortable sharing) would also go a long way in helping us track these issues down.
Appreciate the heads-up, let’s figure this one out!
Good questions, @dan. I will look into it to see if I am able to answer these questions. Happy to share my project if I am not able to work out and record the cause myself.
Best,
Hmmm… Not been able to re-create the problem after trying for half an hour. What I did notice while trying is that the vertical scroll bar scales proportionally when narrowing down the web view window. Is that as it should be? In the end, the scrollbar is miniscule in width and impossible to see or handle. This may be a related problem?
Here is a video file showing the scaling issue…
My challenge now is that this is a 4,08GB project, and to fit in the cloud to send it to you, it needs to be less than 1? Will take me some time to find the 75% I do not need in the short term to scale it down in size. I am guessing it is not a good idea to open the project package to reduce larger files there? I suspect that will crash the entire project file.
Lost the scrollbar in the web viewer once more in a completely new rebuilt slimmed down project. I do not know how I was able to trigger this bug.
I am uploading it to the cloud now, but does not seem to be visible. How do we progress from here, @dan? Open to share this so you could have a look.
It does not happen in blank new projects. It happens in my current one today (1.0.8). When I drag in standard templates to build a completely page.
E.g. when I drag in a sticky menu, the 2 column right, 2 column left and a big footer the scrollbar is lost.
Happy to share the project if you want (and can explain how I get the cloud to work).
Sincerely,
Kjell Are Refsvik

Try setting your Scroll bars to “Always” in the System Preferences.
You can learn more about Elements Cloud and sharing projects here.
This is not a bug, just a side effect of the feature. The editor scales (including the scrollbar) to fit on your screen, in that screenshot it’s at 38%.
I would suggest having less pallets visible so you can keep the editor nearer to 100%.
OK. Noted.
