Markdown – how to with tables and deviding lines

I am just testing the great feature (I hope it is/will be) and can’t figure out, why:

  1. the simple devider (- - -) line has no effects
  2. a table with the structure like in the markdown guide has no effect. I also checked and used Markdown Tables generator - TablesGenerator.com to be sure, the page is not rendered as a table

For writing the MD I am using iA Writer on Mac

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, Elements only supports the basic Markdown syntax. Tables are not an officially supported extended syntax.
