Market Place Essentials

Will the Essentials Pack evidentially include templates for “forms”? Simple “CMS"?

the replace with “eventually”

Yes, of course  Forms is next on the list!

I’m a +1 for the CMS layouts, primarily just for the main listing of articles. Ben’s layouts in the Dev Diaries videos looked great.

were there any particular CMS layouts you had in mind? Do you have any example sites, or screenshots, of what you were thinking of?

Watching the video…

Really amazing :star_struck:

Tons of time would be saved for commercial production.

I’m really impressed with the design of your store and ease of use.

The essentials is really good :+1:

Agree with forms and cms…

For cms: photo - info - post clip
Then item page: large photo - info - full article

The summary layout you showed in the project in Dev Diary 90 looked great.

I think another basic layout would be a stream of the most recent posts in a traditional blog page layout:

Agreed, I think that’d be a great start!

Ben, the “appleseed daily” demo fundamentally provides groundwork for a simple forum blog and likely fits my needs. As an Essentials Package Custom Component, it would be sufficient.

I previously purchased Weaverpixels Flexon, will your Essentials pack be much different than this?

I’m not too familiar with what’s included in Flexon, but you can take a look at the Essentials preview here, and see if it’s something you think you’d find useful

Hope that helps!

In minimum they are charging 4 times the price of fleXon

i really love your FleXon pack!

@WeaverPixel

Thanks @MikeV

To be honest, I was very surprised that Realmac released their own “Essentials” design library. In the video it was said that it took endless hours to develop it. There are so many things in Elements that are still unfinished and need their attention, and then they develop a time-consuming library using their rare resources. I would have preferred a next step on the CMS or the Tailwind 4 implementation or …

Anyhow, my plan is unchanged and I will further develop fleXon. There are currently 136 sections available and I will finish another 10 to 20 by the end of the month. You can have a look here fleXon design library

We’ve just pushed the first update to the Essentials Pack, adding 3 new Form templates :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

If you’ve already purchased the pack, simply hit the “Update” button in the Elements Store and they’ll install automatically.

If you’d like to preview the new Form templates, or any of the other templates included in Essentials, you can check them out on the Essentials Pack site.

We’ll be adding more templates, including CMS templates, in the near future!

The update was very painless and completed in a few seconds - impressive!

I have to agree. While it is great to give users more options and choices, there are so many unfinished and rough edges in Elements that it seems the time spent creating the Essentials templates would have been more wisely spent polishing the app.

I, too, was rather surprised that they would release something that clearly competed with the work of third-party developers on the same front, that preceded them.

But I guess another revenue stream is always welcome.

It sure is. The Mac indie app business is HARD.

And here’s the harsh truth: Right now, Elements does not have enough users to make it sustainable. The Store is one way to help us reach sustainability faster. We’re not VC funded. We don’t have forever to make this work.

If we can’t make Elements sustainable, we’ll go out of business. Everyone looses.

We’re working hard to make sure we can do this successfully for the next 10 years and beyond…

The bottom four cards in the grid all open the Logo Clouds page when clicked…

We’ll get that fixed. In the meantime you can use the side menu to navigate once you go into the preview page…
