Merging Disqus comments from two domains

(Gabriël Depauw) #1

I am working on an English version of my Dutch site. I want the comments in the Guestbooks to appear on both sites. The sites have different domain names.

I’ve added the domain name of the English site to the trusted sites in my Disqus settings. I’ve also added a unique identifier variable to the Disqus Universal Code. This is what it looks like now:

/**

  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION VARIABLES: EDIT AND UNCOMMENT THE SECTION BELOW TO INSERT DYNAMIC VALUES FROM YOUR PLATFORM OR CMS.
  • LEARN WHY DEFINING THESE VARIABLES IS IMPORTANT: https://disqus.com/admin/universalcode/#configuration-variables
    /
    /

    var disqus_config = function () {
    this.page.url = PAGE_URL; // Replace PAGE_URL with your page’s canonical URL variable
    this.page.identifier = ‘heuvelgastenboek’; // Replace PAGE_IDENTIFIER with your page’s unique identifier variable
    };
    */
    (function() { // DON’T EDIT BELOW THIS LINE
    var d = document, s = d.createElement(‘script’);

s.src = ‘//gastenboek.disqus.com/embed.js’;

s.setAttribute(‘data-timestamp’, +new Date());
(d.head || d.body).appendChild(s);
})();

Please enable JavaScript to view the comments powered by Disqus.

All comments appear on my Disqus admin page. However, comments in my Dutch Guestbook do not appear on my English site and vice versa.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks! :slight_smile:
