Missing icon and Store images in 1.5.1

Having been busy doing other things for a week or so (work!) I just upgraded from 1.4.1 directly to 1.5.1. The Store icon is absent, though still active on hover/click (but the tooltip says “Show theme settings” :frowning: ) and when I do open it the items are missing their pretty images, with just a placeholder icon. Here’s what I see:

I know you were making Store-related changes behind the scenes in some of the updates I didn’t download - am I going to need to do a full re-download to fix this?

Ah… I think the icon issue is due to the fact you’re on an older system, can you confirm what version of macOS you’re running?

The missing product image is very strange, again it could be an older OS issue. We’re looking into it now.

In the meantime could you try re-launching Elements and see if the images load?

Hi Dan,

I’m (stuck) on Ventura for the time being (a software dependency issue is preventing me upgrading) and awaiting the shiny new M5 MacBook Pro due in Jan/Feb.

Restarting Elements does not help (presumably the incorrect tooltip on the Store icon is actually a bug - I think I’ve seen someone else report that…)

Hey @AndyG,

Good news, we’ve fixed the store icon not showing (and the tooltip), that will be available in the next build of Elements, due shortly.

Re the images not showing in the store:
Do you have any anti-virus or traffic monitoring software installed, like LittleSnitch?Something that might be blocking internet traffic?

Let me know.

Hi Dan,

Yes it was indeed Little Snitch silently blocking access to cloudfront.net (I don’t recall explicitly denying access to this domain in the past though…). Sorry, I should have checked that first. Anyhow, all good now, and I look forward to the Store icon fix.

Sorry to divert you from your very important work!

haha, don’t worry about it. You wouldn’t believe the number of times LittleSnitch has caused issues!

New build should be available in the next few hours
