Navigator Spacing

Why can’t I do the type of Navigator I currently have in Classic? See screenshot.

You should be able to build exactly this with the “Standard Navigation” component, what issues are you having?

Hi Dan C.
I was having issues but somehow they seem to have gone away.
May be an update did it. Not sure.

Dan C.
After a bit more trial and error, I am coming back to the issue I had with the Navigator. Here are two screenshots which display the problem.

When I set Alignment to Left in the Navigator, I get the situation shown in shot 1. Menu headings have become two lines.
For me, this would probably not matter too much but there would be a need to centre the Menu headings, to be aesthetically pleasing. Obviously there is a limit to how much text can be put in a Navigation header depending if one wants a single line or two lines is OK.

When I set Alignment to Centre, I get quite a different situation shown in shot 2.

This is not the normal understanding for what Alignment in any other program does.

It would seem too, that there might be a need for spacing (I would call it spreading) Menu headings. May be you could add that under the alignment part of Font & Text Styles.section too.

But I will occasionally pressure you for “text flowing in columns” especially when people my age (76) want to read things on larger screens. Oh, the beauty of such a program as Elements is that older folk who can’t do much else, could sit a make web sites.

Once again, keep up the good work. This is going to be an absolutely excellent app.

Cheers,
Paul Cruice

I’m just looking into a little further, but I believe the “Gap” setting under Content Layout should set the distance between each menu item. Although… it seems to be broken at the moment! We’ll get it fixed for the next beta!
