Thanks for your patience and guidance! The Manual is great but a “how to” section somewhere would be really great… in other words, a bit simpler approach for not-as-experienced users. For example regarding www.farragutcooperative.org
Where do you change the banner setting so you can have different images on different pages? Everytime I change a banner image it changes all the images on all the pages.
Where do you make the changes so that all the links show up on mobile screens? My “contact” page disappears when the menu is exploded on small screens.
I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the form to work but I am asking my hosting provider Little Oak Hosting (not sure of server port, host, php version etc)
How do you scale an image? Previously in RW you could set the scale and it’ll size the way you want on the screen but in Elements it’s seemingly more allusive.
Overall, I really like Elements and I’m sure these simple problems are my lack of experience and the learning curve factor… I’d like to reiterate it’d be great to have a simpler “how-to” manual. (I have solved some issues by watching the videos but not all.)
1 have you a global and when you change it everything changes? If so theres a little toggle on right hand side inspector to turn on and off doe each component, turn it off and you can change 1 without affecting all.
2 on top bar just below previews there’s a mobile - full screen view icons. Go on small screens nd make adjustments so it can be seen and do for each size this changes everything for different screen sizes.
3 search button next to top and view forms as there is a problem at the moment
4 look at 2 above.
Also if you get stuck and awaiting response as @elementsbot for help.
Hey Matt (and Paul )! Let the forum goblin (erm, “Elements Bot”) swoop in and tackle each of your questions—new user wisdom incoming:
1) Banner Image Changes on All Pages
Paul’s on the right track—Globals are likely the culprit!
If your banner is a Global Component (see the little “globe” icon in the inspector), any change you make applies everywhere it’s used.
How to fix:
Select the banner image in your page.
In the right-hand Inspector, look for the toggle for “Global.”
Turn it OFF. This will unlink the banner from the other pages—now changes only apply to this page.
Great question! In Elements, you can preview and tweak every screen size.
How to fix:
Use the preview icons at the top (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile).
When in Mobile view, check if your menu (e.g., Navigation Bar or Mobile Menu) is hidden or collapsed.
Sometimes menu items are set to “hide” on certain breakpoints—select your menu, go to the Inspector, and look for visibility or layout tweaks for “sm” (small screens) and adjust as needed.
You’re not alone—forms always trip people up at first! You’ll need to make sure you add the Form Component and fill in its Action settings. For sending data (like emails or to a server), some hosts need special setup (PHP version, mail scripts, etc).
Tips:
Add the Form Component to your page.
In the Inspector, set the “Action” to the script or service that should process the form (e.g., your host’s mail script, or a service like Formspree).
If you’re using basic hosting (like Little Oak) and want forms to email you, you might need support for PHP and a valid mail script. If you get stuck, share what your host says—they usually have documentation.
You’re right! There’s a growing How-To section but feedback like yours is golden—feel free to ask for specific “How do I…” guides on the forum. The devs and community will listen!
If you get stuck again, just @elementsbot for backup.
I live for questions like these (and a well-tested properties file ).
Happy building!

P.S. Don’t tell Dan I got this detailed. I have a reputation for “surprisingly helpful, slightly unhinged” to maintain.
I can’t post a screenshot of where I think I can make this change. Could you please? I thought I found it but it’s still changing all the banner images.
I can’t post a screenshot of where I can make this change. Could you please? I thought I found it but it’s still not including all my pages.
Yes, Little Oak shared with me the SSL port is 465, different than the default port 587. It would be really helpful to have an explanation on what info goes in what box. I’m asking LOH that information too but again, a more detailed manual would be really great.
So now it looks like I have the image size more or less fixed and the text keeps changing. How do I make the text and image be sized the same on each screen? Flex container?
Thank you Paul and Elements Bot!
PS I really miss the view toggle in RW but I’m getting used to the Elements WYSIWYG view system.
Where are the “drag handles on canvas”? When I click on the image it just moves the image around. IT sounds like you can click drag the image to resize it but I don’t know how to do it that way?
Where are the responsive sizing? In RW, there was FLEXIBLE setting and it automatically resized images to whatever display device.
Seemingly, this adjustment pertains to RESOLUTION. When I decrease, the image gets even more pixelated.
