Non-Background Image Alt Tag Missing

I have now entered the world of Elements and have immediately come across an issue related to missing non-background image alt tags.

Below is the user manual reference to the image component found at: Image | RapidWeaver Elements Docs

In the image the Alt tag is clearly visible.

However within the North Eleven project the Alt tag is missing as per the following image

When I then open a blank project and simply drag the Image component onto the page the missing Alt tag is still evident.

What is going on??

This changed in Elements 3.0 you now set the alt tag in the Image Resource, this means every time you use the image in the project it’ll always have the same alt tag. We think this is a much better way to do it

Oh, and we’ll get the manual updated to reflect the new way of doing things.

Thank you for responding.

As all of my images are warehoused and therefore reside on my server my images will not reside in the Image Resources - how is this overcome?

You have two ways to do this…

you can switch to the “Custom” option for images and this will include an Alt tag option below the source URL )this is probably more like you’re used to working in Classic):

You can add remote images to the Resources area, right click the heading and choose “Add Remote Recourses”.

This allows you to paste in one or more external URL’s, then you can add alt tags in the Media Inspector like above. And yes, the resources are not added to your project, they are still remote. See Docs for more information.
