On the upcoming CMS Requirements

Hi team,
This week I learned through this forum that Elements CMS would require PHP on the website to run. This means that I would need to move my website away from Cloudflare… and find a replacement. But I’m not sure what should I be looking for… can you give me a few examples of providers with the right product to use that would be compatible with Elements Publish action and CMS? I’ve looked at DigitalOcean and linked (now part of Akamai)… but they offer many products… none seems to mention PHP or CMS… thanks for all replies

I have used Chillidog for years, Greg and team are great for service and help. Also RealMac also recommend these too.

Thanks… but even looking at their site, I’m not sure which product I would need for Elements which requires CMS…

Chillidog is a hosting site and you just upload any RW/Elements project to it and set the PHP to whatever you want or change it to latest one when required. You can put any site irrespective of CMS or not and through Control Panel manage them all. You can set up sub domains to try out things if you require, you can add and manage loads of things from emails to databases. Its an all in one package and you pay one fee for the size of your GB requirement.

I have been using ICDSoft for 15+ years. Excellent support. ~$80 per year. MySQL. PHP 8.4, unlimited email addresses, 100 databases etc.
PS. I am not associated with them apart from using them to host.

This looks like a good option.

Easiest is you want to look for a shared hosting provider, and use a shared hosting plan.

If you do go with Chillidog, @barchard and @LaPan are members on the forum and often around to help out :raising_hands:

P.S. The Realmac and Elements website are hosted with them and have been for years!

The other nice thing about Chillidog is that they have an option where you can set up your Elements project publishing settings from your hosting package on their site. Super simple and works every time.

I can highly recommend them, I have been using them for years.

Thanks @barchard ! Once the CMS feature of Elements is out, I’ll reconfigure my publishing workflow which currently involves Github + Cloudflare. My site is an about page (you can see here). Not a high-volume website but I plan to use the CMS feature that requires PHP 8.4.

No problem. Happy to help you get you up and running. PHP8.4 isn’t a problem. It’s easy to switch PHP versions
