Unfortunately the payment options in the Elements Store are (limited to) Credit Card and Amazon Pay (UK) whereas the Elements Application does allow Credit Card and PayPal and GooglePay and ApplePay.
I could not use Amazon Pay here in Germany
Remark but no advertisement: ApplePay might be a good option since Elements users as Apple macOS users per se and most likely have an Apple account.
Would love to order from the Elements store right now… without having a credit card. @dan: please make it possible.
We use Fastspring on the website. They’ve been reliable enough over the years and support a wide range of payment methods, which is great. The downside is their backend and API are dated, and they just don’t offer what we need to power a proper in-app store, especially when it comes to handling third-party product sales.
We did try to use Fastspring for the Elements Store, but without a modern API it simply wasn’t possible. That’s why we had to switch to Stripe.
Stripe works well, but it supports fewer payment options when the checkout lives inside an app. Because our store is in-app, we can’t offer Apple Pay, it has to be used in a browser for that. If Stripe expands their supported in-app payment methods, we’ll jump on it.
I know it’s not ideal, and we’d love to offer more options. Rest assured, we’ll keep pushing on this
This morning, I wanted to buy some items from the Elements Store, but to my surprise, I couldn’t use PayPal, iDeal or the new European payment system Wero.
Unfortunately, I’ll just have to wait until new payment methods are implemented.
I use Stripe and expel pay by credit card or paypal, theres a little box to tick in settings as to what payment methods you want. I think the problem with @dan set up is the payment system is “within” an app and that needs a 3rd party link like “revenue cat” to make it work.
most of my online purchases I use Wise its really easy to set up and add and delete Visa cards etc instantly. if a card has issues ie it gets hacked I can just close it. I stopped using PayPal years ago. and as it is a basically a digital Credit card / Debit card I dont have problems anymore with anything and it even connects to my Apple Wallet so even that works when traveling internationally.
Have a look at this it is a Stripe App approved product and may help. It’s free to use for under $2500 per month and 1% for $2500+. RevenueCat and Stripe
