8.5.0 would is not a target I code to from my perspective. I am coding to 8.3x and 8.4.x which have matured and a lot of the kinks have been worked out. A .0 version of something so important is not what I would want running my enterprise solutions that I develop.
The latest PHP update for Elements was to version 8.4.15 just a few weeks ago. Therefore, I assume that PHP 8.5 is not supported yet.
Sounds not great….
I don’t think I can… checking with Vibralogix and with Flarum - open source forum software
Flarum is tested to 8.3x
Why does DreamHost want users on 8.5??
Better security?
Got the note from Vibralogix - they are running 8.5
Going to try it… it seems to be a nice upgrade from chat gpt - apparently it’s ‘more’ of a language now and debugging and more optimized etc…
They have a downgrade option also… DreamHost - so you can try it - see if it works - then downgrade if it doesn’t…
Going to wait a few days though… not in a hurry… will try on an obscure site I have….
PHP 8.4 still has some time left. No rush to PHP 8.5 needed really.
Unless Dreamhost is forcing you onto 8.5, I’d stay put for now.
Worked fine! 8.5.0
Success!
You should test - your hosting company and WAIT for Elements to officially support 8.5.0
But DreamHost and Elements = Success!
Didn’t try with CMS on technitrox.com
Didn’t try with Flarum Forum TrumpetStudio.com
Choose not too upgrade on a client website… 8.3
All other of my sites are now 8.5.0
