Possible Bug in 9.3.3

Yesterday I upgraded to 9.3.3 and clicked off the setting to set a new page to draft.

Today I made a slight change on one page and then went to publish. I didn’t realize the internet connection wasn’t active and RWC locked up when I canceled publishing.

I reopened RWC and the page I made changes to was now set on DRAFT. Started checking other pages and 30 (or so) of 58 pages were now set on DRAFT.

Whoops…

This setting is disabled by default, upgrading to 9.3.3 would not have enabled it automatically.

Did you leave out some details that would help us try to replicate this behavior?

I had a problem with this as well yesterday. I turned ON the setting as I wanted any new pages I created to be set as DRAFTS. Instead what happened is that all of the pages on my site were switched to DRAFT. Of course I did not notice this at first because I was not expecting it to have that effect.

I then tried publishing some changes I had made to my site and of course that did not work as the pages were set to draft. This caused me no amount of anguish as I could not figure out why my changes were not being published.

Then I decided to check the page settings and I then realized that all of the pages had been set to DRAFT, ouch!

This clearly was not working as I had thought it shoudl work, as I was only expecting it to apply to NEW pages I created, not existing ones.

BTW, the only way I caught this was I noticed only the sitemap file was being updated and when I looked at it there were no pages listed in it. So I realized something was wrong and started looking.

Thanks @handshaper, this is the information I was looking for to try and replicate it. Will work on trying to replicate it tomorrow and report back.

Cheers.

Hi everyone,

I have had this exact issue over the weekend, I had to reach out to @willwood to advise me with what might be wrong. My website would publish absolutely fine from the RW side, but no changes on my website were shown once published. Thankfully Will had read about this issue before, and was able to solve the issue fairly quickly for me.

What is interesting is that I unchecked all of the ‘draft’ boxes as he advised, published the site and the closed RW. Later in the evening I reopened RW to continue my work and the whole project’s pages had clicked back in to ‘draft’ as a default. Just thought I’d put this out there…I can send details to @dang if desired…?
