Possible Bug when Previewing Newly Created Posts

I think there may be a bug in the live preview function of the CMS Online Editor.

Description

I have a CMS folder containing posts, each of which refers to an event.

Posts that were created in Elements and uploaded to the CMS preview correctly. However, new posts created directly in the CMS do not preview correctly.

When displayed on the website, the new post displays correctly.

Expected behaviour

When I click Preview for a newly created post, the post should appear in the preview window.

Actual behaviour

The Preview button opens the correct preview URL. However, the preview contains no content and displays the message: “No item found.”

Steps to reproduce

Scenario 1

  1. Create a new post in the CMS.
  2. Click Preview.
  3. The preview opens the preview URL, but the item is not displayed.

Scenario 2

  1. Open a post that previews correctly.
  2. Duplicate the post.
  3. Preview the copied post.

The copied post does not display correctly in preview. Please see the attached screen recording.

We’re looking in to this and we’ll hopefully have a fix in the next update.

Hi @Ben,

I have just checked with the latest build of the Beta, and I don’t think this bug has yet been fixed. The problem still seems to affect new posts and also duplicated posts.

Unfortunately @ben is away this week and he’s probably the best person to handle this, I’ll get him to take a look next week when he’s back!
