Preview in Rapidweaver8 does not function

I moved my stuff from an old MacPro (under 10.13.6) to an newer iMac under Catalina with the migration assistent. My version of Rapidweaver 8.9.4 stopped giving previews of my projects. The RW7 app that came also over with the migration does this as normal. What to to do? Erase some plists here and there or do a complete reïnstall?

Hi @dirkV,

Does RW8 still preview if you press CMD+P? This should open your website in a new Safari window.

If that doesn’t work, try restarting the RapidWeaver webserver by clicking on the Advanced tab in your project, and then the “Restart Web Server” button:

Hi Erwin, thanks for your reply. I tried your tip: it is not a solution. Funny that the old RW7 app that came also with the migration is functioning normal with preview. I think it has to do somehow with permissions. I found an reinstaller online. Gone try that after wiping this from my disk.

Hi @dirkV,

That’s odd - it should work. It’s just a small webserver that launches and displays your page in a browser. The built-in preview function or RapidWeaver is also just a (simple) browser., and relies on the same webserver.

I agree that perhaps the migration assistant broke something. Try a reinstall of RW8.9 and see what happens.

Cheers,
Erwin

Nothing of RW on the migrated install did work. Started again with a clean install and putting app’s and data back by hand. RW works now fine, but i have to put all the plugins. themes and stack back. That is: the ones i still use. Find a lot of old crap. greetings dirk
