Preview isn't working with Safari

Hi Folks

I just downloaded most recent update to Elements and opened a dummy website that I use simply to play around with features, and was simply testing the new angle setting options on the background. While doing that I went to preview the site and it came back with an error message I haven’t had previously (see attached screenshot below). My preview is set to open in Safari 26.1 (latest version). I changed Elements to preview in Chrome and that worked with no issues.

The error message below refers to “HTTPS-Only enabled” so I was thinking there’s an issue with my Safari settings, but I can’t see where this setting is changed within Safari and I have not changed anything in my security settings that I can remember and it wasn’t an issue previewing the same Elements site last week, before updating to Tahoe 26.1. Any clues what is going on?

That is a strange one, I just did a quick search on “HTTPS-Only enabled” and nothing of relevance come up as Safari doesn’t have that option… unless it’s something new they added in Tahoe 26.1 (but I don’t think it is).

Have you tried restarting your Mac and seeing if that fixes the issue?

I also wondered if you had any ant-virus or traffic monitoring software installed that might be blocking non-https connections in Safari?

Let me know how you get on.

Does it help if you switch off this one:

Yes, if I turned this setting off, the preview worked as expected. So rather than just giving a warning it fails to load a preview at all.

@dan I tried the restart, it didn’t help. I did not have any additional antivirus software running. It turns out the problem disappears if I turn off the http warning setting on Safari as suggested by @CyberFredje , which is strange because I definitely had that turned on in the previous version of Safari and there was never an issue with Elements loading the preview before, so it seems to be a new behaviour.
