Problems with Menu's

Hi Dan,

I’ve watched almost all your videos now and can’t even manage to create a usable menu with Elements.

Here is an example.

In Elements the SVG logo is not displayed, but it is in Safari. The logo cannot be left-aligned and is too small.
I don’t need menu entries for Home and Impressum. However, I cannot switch these off. The space between the menu entries is too large and I would like to have borders around the entries. See the same menu in Classic.

How do I create such a menu with Elements???

How can I set the links in the footer?

im pretty sure the menu component is being re written as they know its a bit basic

Yes, we’re redoing the menu components entirely.

If you have a specific requests for types of navigation you’d like to see please let us know. We’ll be tackling this soon.

Well ok here’s a wish : is it possible with dropdown menu to have a color cascade with the colors that matches the country flag of the visitor web browser ? :face_with_monocle:

Hmmm, that’s a very specific request… might be best to build a custom component to achieve that one.

Do you know of any sites that have this? (so I can see exactly what you mean).

Ability to include / not include pages in the website in the menu
Ability to edit the links an item points to
Ability to manually set up a menu, i.e. enter the items in menu as opposed to them being pulled from pages in website
Cascading display
Able to set whether link opens in same window, new window, new tab, etc.

Hi @dan I suggest to visit joke.something  I know I have a weird sense of humor  but it was a joke :yum: the menu request
ADD : I removed the .com from joke because it’s a real site and I didn’t know sorry :disappointed: Maybe I should stop my jokes… well yes in fact :raised_hand:

Haha, no problem

Collapsible sidebar that goes responsive on small screens with fly-in from left or right side. Only one section should remain open at a time.

EDIT: scroll down to sidebar and look at the examples.

EDIT-edit: it should also have an active state so the reader knows what page they are on.

Beside what @Flash mentioned, I am missing in my Foundry 3 setup a kind of Mega Menu.

@dan When I add a button to the menu, it doesn’t appear in the mobile menu. Is it supposed to be like that?

we are working on multiple new menu/navigation components that will replace the current Menu.

Dan, can you make sure the Menu drops down to at least three levels.

It would be very useful to be able to have some “hooks” in the menus to be able to decide whether a menu item should be output or not. For example, you might have a menu that has additional items if you are logged into the website.

I am thinking of a mechansim that would enable you to insert PHP code or javscript that could decide whether a menu item was output.

The way I would do it at the moment is just to duplicate the menu but that creates problems in that if you make style or other changes to one, you have to repeat it for the other.
