@Dan Is this just me? After the latest update, there seems to be issues with the “divider” properties. When the file loads, they display correctly in the UI, but as soon as you click on any “switch” property, all the “divider” properties are hidden, regardless of the “visibility” attribute.
I’m not seeing any problems with properties for the Divider component.
But I might not have fully understood what you meant by “switch” properties.
I don’t understand why but now, by clicking any “switch” or “segmented” properties all the “dividers” (regardless of the “visibility” attribute set) are hidden.
That looks correct, the controls show when the switch is enabled.
Maybe you didn’t understand correctly.
The Divider properties are in no way related to the switches; there is no “visible” attribute associated with those switches. And as you can see from the example videos, all the Dividers disappear (in all groups in the Inspector).
I assume this is the only problem I’m having (but I don’t understand why). After the latest Elements update (and macOS 26.3), I’ve had this problem: all the Dividers in the Inspector disappear when I click any switch in the Inspector, even if they don’t have any “visible” attribute associated with those switches.
Oh, sorry, those are not our components.
I still don’t see the issue form your video, it appears to be working as expected. If it’s not, it sounds like it might be coding issue on your end, we’d need to see your code to offer any help with this.
Without seeing the code, it’s like saying “Help, my car won’t start!” to a mechanic without letting him see the engine… ![]()
Can you isolate just those controls and out them into a custom component, then share it here via Elements Cloud. That way we can see what’s going ![]()
I can assure you that the code is correct, there are no problems. Until the other day, everything was working fine, but now everything works fine, except for the Divider properties, which always “magically” disappear.
I haven’t changed a single line of code in days; before, the Dividers worked normally, but now they don’t.
It’s not a code problem if all the Dividers “magically” disappear from the Inspector simply by clicking on any switch or segmented property.
@Massimo Can you test with an old build, you can get them here RapidWeaver Elements - Release Notes
Do you see this with our built in components?
I always forgot to answer… I don’t understand why I keep losing the Divider properties
in the Inspector, not even those of the native Elements components. Sometimes (rarely) they’re visible, but as soon as I click something, they suddenly disappear. A mystery!
And yes, I also tried an older build when @tpbradley suggested it, but it didn’t work.
We’ve not seen this in ANY of our components, and we’ve built a lot so I have no idea what’s going on here ![]()
If you can supply us with a small test project that shows the issue we can debug it here and find out the route cause!
The problem is that it’s not tied to anything specific or a specific project. In fact, it happens even with an empty project with just one Container component on the page. It’s strange, but I remember it starting to happen after an update; before that, they always worked fine for me. I made a short video to explain the problem.
Ahhh, are you using a non-retina display?
I think so, my monitor is a BenQ PD3220U.
Is this a problem that can be solved?
Being able to display the dividers would be very helpful because they keep the controls in the Inpsector organized.
We’ve not had any other reports of this, and my guess is that it’s likely down to your display resolution and scaling settings.
It looks like you’ve ended up with a combination where the hairline dividers fall on sub-pixel values rather than whole pixels. When that happens, they won’t always render consistently, which is why they only appear intermittently.
You may find that adjusting your display scaling in the system makes them render more reliably. Do you also have an Apple Display you can test this on (like a MacBook)?
As this appears to be an isolated issue, it’s low priority right now. That said, once we’ve shipped the store, we’ll take another look and see if there’s anything we can do to improve it.
Okay, thanks.
By changing the resolution (setting it slightly lower), the dividers were visible again. However, I don’t know if it’s solely a monitor resolution issue, as up until a certain release of Elements (which may be around the time I started this thread), with the exact same monitor settings, the dividers were always displayed correctly. So, I don’t know if it’s just a monitor resolution issue.
Hi @Massimo,
I’m not really sure what to suggest as it sounds more like an Apple bug to me. What resolution are you using?
It’s going to be a difficult one to fix as we’ve been unable to reproduce it here. That said, if you’re able to find a build where the dividers are working I can see what changed.
Hi @tpbradley ,
At 3840 x 2160 resolution, the dividers are not visible.
At 3360 x 1890 resolution, the dividers are visible.
@Massimo All previous builds are available here. If you can let us know what version the bug doesn’t appear in that would be really helpful.
