Publish site doesn't work

Sell, leaving the site overnight, this morning, the speed of accessing pages has returned to normal. I’m still mystified.

Just to give you all an update on the publishing issue.

I have good news!

We have managed to recreate the problem here, and are aiming to have a fix out this week.

Stay tuned, and thanks for your patience!

I am still having this issue, however I can load each page individually, which is a bit of a pain. I have used Cyberduck to verify my credentials and they are fine. I have contacted the hosting company, Webhostingpad, and this is their response.

“To configure RapidWeaver, start the application and go to the File menu, Publishing Settings option.
Server: sc508.whpservers.com
username: your control panel username
Password: your control panel password
Path: /home/fgonycqv/domains/”mysite.com”/public_html
You will need to set your ftp client connection settings to use FTPeS/explicit.”

I don’t know how to implement this last line.

Is there a way to publish files via Cyberduck?

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy, what happens when you try to publish, does it just hang on “Exporting page content…” like the above users?

Or are you having issues entering your credentials?

No problem with my credential. Confirmed using cyber duck.

Can you try the latest build of Elements, version 1.2 that’s just gone live?

Hi Dan
It works but it still takes two tries. On another note, I just added …! to a text line in one of my pages to make this test, yet it uploaded over 2000 files! That doesn’t make sense.

Interesting, try making one more change and you should see that it only uploads the changed files… let me know how you get on.

OOPS! Now I get this message when I try to use the browser within Elements:

Plus now the uploaded site is painfully slow.

The changes we’ve made will not affect the upload speed. This might be to do with your network or hosting provider.

Have you tried restarting Elements (and your Mac), does that fix the preview issue?

if not, can you share your project with us via Elements Cloud so we can take a look at why it’s not previewing.

And now it appears that Elements has quit all by itself.

Okay I’ll restart the computer.

No change after restarting Mac.
Here’s the link:

Okay, I have the file and it’s almost 600MB… no wonder you’re finding it slow to upload sometimes. This is probably the biggest Elements file I’ve received to date :grimacing:

One way to bring the file size down, and to improve publishing speeds is to move all your resources to Remote Resources. Anyway…

It’s late here so I’ll dive into this project tomorrow and see what we can find. However, on my initial test, it appears to preview just fine…

Ae you still getting the “Safari can’t connect to the server” issue when you try to preview it?

And don’t worry, we’ll get this resolved one way or another.

Dan,
I am pleased to confirm that the latest patch works. Thanks for your efforts.

Cheers,

Andy

Preview is working now.

There other issue I seem to have is very slow loading. I know you said this is a problem with my server or large file sizes, but I’m on a fibre-optic system. And I’ve checked and my file sizes are either around 200K or for most of my photo galleries, they are less than 100K. In Classic there was a stack that loaded a lower res file image first so the user wouldn’t have to see a blank screen. My Elements file size is large, I know. But page by page shouldn’t load slowly if there are not many images on the page.

How would I move all my image files to my remote server?

Hi Troy,

I use IONOS for hosting. Due to the problems I have with the Form-element and webhooks I have now creating an AWS/Lightsail Instance to get better control over the Apache Server. But I wasn’t able to work on the project the last three days. It’s work in progress….The Webhook works under the local Servbase/Apache instance but not on IONOS

The publish problem is gone….with the latest update.
