Publishing Bug? Cannot Choose Public_HTML folder

I’ve just downloaded the Personal Profile Project and edited a few things before publishing to my web hosting account.

I am trying to go through the Publishing Setup, have entered in the correct host details, username and password, which passed the test fine. When I click on the browse button to select the folder I want to publish to on the remote server, the dialogue box appears and I can choose the Public_HTML folder, but then the app locks up and I cannot click on anything, having to force quit.

If I just try to publish to the root folder there are some 2000 files Elements wants to upload?

I have a new install of 1.5.3, not really used it until now.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

It’s a bug :lady_beetle:
But you can get around it by double clicking on the public_html directory in teh browse window that opens, even though the cancel and choose button have no effect.

Awesome, thank you.

It still want’s to publish 2898 files though!

Could it be trying to publish the resources (as in all of them) that appear in the left pane? (Icons / Backgrounds / Assets)?

Sounds about right I am afraid.

There is lots of backend stuff that gets published even if you don’t use it.

It should only do a large upload (2989) files the first time. After that it should only upload the changes
