Publishing error - help please

I have my full e-commerce site finished in Elements and now wish to publish it from within Elements, Chillidog are my hosting site. In RW Classic/8 I have used EXACTLY the same information and it works. I have been on to Chillidog support and they have checked it out and everything is as it should be.

I do a “test” and it works, I do a “browse” and the path is there and correct.

However when I start “republish all files” (although I have never published any) I get the following error, yet it works in RW 8 no problem.

Am I missing something? @dan

my address is trial.(domain name) - obviously I using the correct domain name and it’s spelt correctly. I have also put a / in front and without yet get same error. TIA

Hi @PMUK

differentdan here, but usually that error is because there’s a mismatch between the URL in the Website settings:

and the Publishing settings:

You don’t actually need to duplicate the URL to the publishing settings, you can just leave it blank. Elements will automatically pull the correct URL over from the General Settings >> Website Address Field.

If you do want to add a URL in that publishing settings field, make sure it matches exactly, but I wouldn’t really recommend adding anything there.

Let me know if that’s not it.

Thanks will look tomorrow but They are the same but I don’t have anything in override as I did snd removed it as Chiilidog support instructed me to do so. I am not at computer until tomorrow so will let you know.

Thnaks for some unknown reason the email I had put in a saved in “general” tab had disappeared. However I have added and saved project as I saved it a small box appeared and said saved “recovered file” I now have a recovered “container” on my Home page which I can not delete, I have tried deleting lots of ways from delete, right click delete, deleting the component, right clicking and deleting etc. but it just won’t go at all. It shows up in preview and I am now in a situation where I want to load site and can’t as this is there and I do not want it.

THANKS for your help.

I have had to recreate the same “recovered” component then add it next to recovered one. I was then able to delete the recovered one successfully! Weird!

Thanks for this I got rid of it as above but this is good to know. In the year I have been using Elements it’s the first time I’ve had this so hopefully it was a one off! THANKS for your time!
