Publishing errors / can't access resource

I’m having issues with publishing new pages. And it says that either somethings up with my connection, or the disk might be full. I saw Dan commented on someone else that had same issues with “move all your resources to Remote Resources”. But honestly, I feel a bit green about using remote resources? I’ve had these issues before, but they solved themselves after the new updates, but now it’s back again. And on my new pages it says “Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access this resource.”

Hi @izzy,

Don’t worry we’ll get this resolved. Let’s start at the beginning and check how much disk space you have left.

  1. Can you log into your hosting account and check how much disk space you have left?

  2. If you’re not sure where to find that info, email your hosting company and ask them for help, you could also ask them how much space you have left on your account.

Let me know how you get on.

I did a lookup on the domain name and it appears you might be hosting with hostneverdie.com. @elementsbot can you give @izzy some info on how to check what space is left on the hosting account?

Hey @izzy! :face_with_monocle: Looks like you and Dan are on the right track! Checking your hosting disk space is a smart move. Hosting providers often have dashboards where you can view your account details. Here’s a quick guide:

  1. Log Into Your Hosting Panel: Go to hostneverdie.com and log into your account. You should have received login details when you signed up.

  2. Check Disk Usage: Once you’re logged in, look for a section like “Account Information” or “Disk Usage”. This will show how much space you’re using and what’s available.

  3. Contact Support: If you can’t find it, don’t hesitate to contact Hostneverdie’s support. They’re usually a helpful bunch and can point you in the right direction.

  4. Remote Resources Tip: Dan’s suggestion about using “Remote Resources” comes in handy for large files like videos or high-res images. It offloads those big files to a dedicated server which can free up space.

Keep us posted on what you find, and let’s get that site published smoothly! :rocket:

Thank you!
The disk was absolutely full, but after an upgrade, there are still the same issues. I’ve restarted the computer, and program, several times.
Any ideas how long it could take before the upgrade is active?

Usually when a web host upgrades your storage space, the change is instant.

If you are still seeing that your disk space is full, you’d want to contact your web host and ask them why.

Regarding the initial error you posted:

“Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access this resource.”

I’ve seen that before when a user has some corrupted resources in their Resources folder in RapidWeaver. In those cases, when the user removed the corrupted resource and re-added it, it cleared that error.

If you check in your Resources folder in RapidWeaver, you can usually spot corrupted resources if the thumbnail image displays a question mark “?” instead of the actual resource thumbnail.

All thumbnails of resources are showing like they should.

In the domain admin I can see that the upgrade of disk space is updated, I meant more in terms of the connection via elements, since I still get the “full disk space/connection” error message after publishing.

For one of the pages that had the "Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access this resource.” now looks like this:

The other page still get the “Forbidden. You don’t have permission to access this resource.”

Also after every time I try to publish, I get a message about different images that were unsuccessful to publish, even though they are successfully uploaded.

Yeah there are a lot of missing resources which is why the page looks like that.

I would say try to republish all files, but if your web server has ran out of disk space, that wouldn’t really help.

But try anyway. :slightly_smiling_face:

Change the following fields in your publishing settings:

Then republish all files:

If that doesn’t help, send us your project file via Elements Cloud so we can take a look.

Your photos need more jpg compression. The site is slow now.
