I think I have all my files and settings correct. When I do a Test it says working OK. So I published the website (Mosdens.com) and get and error message when I try to go to it . The web is obviously seeing my old website last used in 2023. Not sure what I’m doing wrong (this time
)
It looks like you’re likely publishing to the wrong location on your server.
A screenshot of your publishing settings with username and password hidden can help as there are a few common web root directories we can recommend. Who is your host?
What is the long number after the address, the link you gave is the root? Did you create a directory with that number or does your provider point to that
We can’t see the entire number?
I don’t know. It was created for me I guess?
What happens if you browse with out the number does it still say the path is ok
Just browse to public_html
That’s my root address unless I created a directory and upload to that
Is there anything uploaded to your site, or is it just that address directory
Here’s the whole number: 0008E531-7006-4566-94D3-7100A346F1A9_rwbackup
Ah thats a backup not the site files
remove the number and publish, do you need your old website??? if so dont publish to there
Looks empty
Ok, I tried removing the last part. Still deosn’t work although it says it’s OK when I test it. So how do I point to the correct path?
Not sure what you are doing next are you clicking on publish site
Have filled in the other areas with your web address etc
Yes I did publish site.
I tried testing w/o the #’s and it works OK. So then I tried browing and it takes me to the (apparently ) old site. But not sure what I’m, looking for?
Yes. It keeps picking up my old site and can’t find where my new site that I published with Elements is.
So just doing a search for /home/mosdensc/public_html on my HD turns up nothing so I don’t know where they are getting this. Perhaps from my host MacHighway? I’ll ask them.
Path = public_html
No need for anything before or after.
I’m republishing my site files which takes a surprisingly long time given that my site isn’t that big.. I also went in and deleted the old files from my HD. I’ll try again once this has finished.
