This may have been covered before but I need to include a path name when I do this. For you it is blank. I have no idea what GoDaddy demands so I may be wrong. Also I use SFTP, so that may require slightly different info.
For my website I need to enter a pathname that looks like this:
public_html/webname
which in your case is likely:
public_html/gordonp… (without the .ca)
I’m just guessing here since I don’t use GoDaddy and hosts can differ in terms of what they require. In general SFTP is a more secure way to go, but that’s another conversation.
Don’t worry about the “Automatic start webserver” setting, it has nothing to do with publishing.
The initial issue of the login credentials (username, and password or the IP address for server name) is the issue.
Once you get that worked out, then when you click on the browse button you should get a list of files and folders. You can then just select the one the hosting company wants you to use.
Hello Guys,
Good news! Got my web site going.
After talking to 5 different people at Go Daddy finally got the right person and we changed the server number.
Thank you for the help and sorry for wasting your time over a problem that should’ve been solved earlier.
I love Rapidweaver and happy to be weaving again.
Have a good day.
Gordon
The numbers in the Server bar had to be changed because I upgraded the OS from Mojave to Catalina.
A very simple fix once the right person came on, he said “let’s start with the basics” and poof it worked.
I recently had to replace my harddrive, during which the service person upgraded my operating system to Catalina. When I opened my website file in Rapidweaver 8.7, most of the IMAGES would not display (the info about the images, links, etc., remained, but the images themselves cannot be seen. I honestly do NOT want to go back over several years’ worth of work to deal with this. I’ve downloaded the .zip website backup file, ,and am wondering if I can somehow reload that, and resave, and have the site graphics be visible in the app - or is there another workaround??? ALSO: When I hit the “preview page” button, it tells me it cannot load the file to (blank path given)… Is there a fix to this? Again, I don’t want to have rebuild the entire site by virtue of this problem. Thanks.
You can certainly try the zipped backup file.
If you have already downloaded it just open the zip file and it should unzip the project file with the same name as it was backed up as. Just be careful not to overwrite the existing file.
In the current project file, under advanced setting, do you have the site resources set to “copy into the document?
