RapidWeaver 7.5.7 – Can't connect via FTPS while FileZilla and Cyberduck work fine

Hello,

I’m using RapidWeaver 7.5.7 on macOS Catalina 10.15.7.

My hosting is with METANET (Switzerland).

Publishing settings:

  • Server: cicero.metanet.ch
  • User: tmnoch
  • Remote folder: /httpdocs
  • FTPS

After resetting the FTP password in Plesk, FileZilla and Cyberduck connect perfectly with the same settings.

However, RapidWeaver still shows:

« Couldn’t sign in to your FTP server. Couldn’t connect to server. »

I have checked:

  • the FTP account is correct;
  • the password is correct;
  • FileZilla and Cyberduck work;
  • so the problem only exists with RapidWeaver 7.5.7.

Has anyone encountered this issue before? Is it an incompatibility with recent versions of TLS/FTPS, or is there a particular setting that needs to be adjusted?

Can you try removing and re-adding the FTP account, see if that resolves the issue?

Do you have any idea when it stopped working? That might give us a clue as to what changed to break it.
